According to MLB.com, the Mets sent RHP Nelson Figueroa, LHP Adam Bostick and C Gustavo Molina outright to Triple-A Buffalo, removing them from the team’s 40–man roster. …thanks to steve in nc for the heads up…

Both Brian Schneider and Ramon Castro are hurting, which lead Jerry Manuel to use Robinson Cancel. Hitting the game tying single in the 8th with two on and two outs made the move look genius but moving forward over the weekend what are they going to do about the catcher's spot. In a pair of minor moves made before the game, the Mets New York Mets released veteran reliever Al Reyes and sent catcher Gustavo Molina back to Venezuela so he could get ready to play winter ball. Al Reyes had not appeared in any games since being signed and called up at the start of the month.

SNY's Kevin Burkhardt just reported that the Mets have optioned out Gustavo Molina. So that means Brian Schneider will back-up Raul Casanova. Schneider told SNY that he took a little batting practice and caught some in the bullpen. He said that his thumb is still sore and the scab still has to heal. Share This

OF Moises Alou could make his much anticipated 2008 debut tonight. As Peter already stated, Brian Schneider has said he is available as a backup tonight if needed. What this means is that Gustavo Molina can be sent down to make room for Alou on the roster. Share This

Earlier today, Brian Schneider told WFAN that he will not start tonight in Arizona, but he is available as a back-up catcher if needed. …in other words, expect the Mets to eventually activate Moises Alou and demote Gustavo Molina…
