Jerry Manuel said he wants to give Nick Evans some more at-bats, so he's playing him in leftfield against Jamie Moyer. My question: Why? Has Evans shown anything after his first game that makes you think he's a starting outfielder...

And it only has one chapter: Throw Every Junker you can find against them . It was only the fifth time the Marlins have been shut out this season, but it might be the beginning of a dangerous trend. ''He was like a right-handed Jamie Moyer,'' Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said. ``He kept throwing the changeup, and his fastball was working for him, and he made pitches when he had to. He kept us off...

It seems that Cole Hamels was trying to take a page out of the Jamie Moyer playbook . The Marlins have gone 15 for 77 in the three games Hamels has started against them and still won all three. Jamie Moyer started Friday night’s game at Dolphin Stadium. Need I say more? The 40-something-year-old and his wondrous 76 mile-per-hour changeup once again stifled the Marlins and dropped them to 2.5 games back, dashing any hopes they had of taking the division lead this weekend. Moyer is now 10-0 lifetime against Florida. On the other side [...]

Never has junk looked so valuable as when Jamie Moyer, aka 45-year old Jamie Moyer, takes the mound for the Phillies. Neither rain nor humidity nor osteoporosis stems this ageless wonder from his appointed rounds, especially when the Florida Marlins are providing the opposition. Moyer won his tenth straight start against the free-swingers from south Florida without a loss. As one Florida youngster...
