Mathis' Miracle: Angels 3, Indians 2

As it was, we had to give our tickets away to this one because my in-laws were coming to town and we had to meet them at LAX. I followed the last few innings of this one on my phone at the airport and in the restaurant where we subsequently ate dinner, and I'm not sure I still believe...

Now THERE’S the Tribe I Know…

Angels 3, Indians 2 (box) A quality start by 31-year old Matt Ginter, where the righty allowed seven hits in six innings was all for naught. Granted, one of the hits was a home run by catcher (and .211-hitting) Jeff Mathis. However, the Indians provided two runs of support on seven hits. And that, folks, rarely [...]

LAst Night's Action: Angels Continue to Just Squeak By

LA Angels defeat Cleveland Indians 3-2 . Jeff Mathis hit a solo shot in the fifth inning to put the Angels ahead, and that was all they needed. Yet again, the Angels did just enough to get the win and get Francisco Rodriguez his 41st save. Starter Jered Weaver left the game in the third inning with a tight back, and the Angel bullpen supported him by shutting down the Indians giving up only four hits....

Bummer

What a bummer of a game this was. Jeff Mathis showing his command of the plate with 3 strikeouts. Jon Garland being more or less a massacre tonight. Lastly, Howie getting the third call strike on a ball that was high and outside starting the double play which Macier while running to 2nd saw that it was a ball and pulled up and jogged into 2nd only to be thrown out completing the 4th grade kick ball...
