Bullpen faulters, Tiger comeback ousts good start by Perkins. For the first time in over a week, the Minnesota bullpen allowed a run. Following a strong performance from Glen Perkins, who left the game in the seventh with a 4-1 lead, Jesse Crain and Matt Guerrier in particular saw the game fall down around them. The Detroit Tigers, a team just as hot as the Twins in recent weeks, put together a pair...

It was just a post ago that I said, "We can expect the bullpen (Guerrier, Neshek (The Sub-Mariner!) and Twitchy Joe Nathan to stay really good." In the last two games, Guerrier, Neshek and Jesse Crain (ugh) have all contributed to the Resurgence of the Detroit Tigers, giving away Twins leads in late innings. The mighty Twins bullpen, their one guaranteed strength going into the season, gave

The Tigers seemed willing Wednesday to let Jesse Crain try for strikes with his breaking pitches and sit on the hard stuff — and hit it all over the park. Three runs, one inning, ballgame

Rosenthal reports the Mariners are in deep discussions with free agent starter Carlos Silva about a deal for 4/44 - insane to put it nicely. An interview with Gerry Hunsicker. Profile of Joe Blanton and his trade prospects. Is Jesse Crain the Twins next closer? And also I wanted to announce that I'll have a very special interview coming up after the holidays for BTB - a hint: he's prominently featured...

I have been on the record for expressing concern about trading Joe Nathan . The recent signings of Mike Lamb and Adam Everett make a trade unlikely this offseason, but even before those moves were made, my hope was that the Twins could fill holes through free agent signings and the Johan Santana trade. The main reason for this is I just don't see any healthy closer candidates in the bullpen. Pat Neshek...

While the Twins bullpen has suffered because of injuries to Jesse Crain and Glen Perkins and ineffectiveness by Juan Rincon, Pat Neshek emerged as a late-inning force. Now, even Neshek has been shelved with what the Twins are calling general fatigue and weakness in his shoulder, putting a damper on a season in which he nearly made the AL All-Star team. Neshek, the sidearmer from Park Center High School,...
