As a poster for this site, I was well aware of the fact the Padres are no good. But I didn't realize how dire things are for the Friars until I saw Jody Gerut batting leadoff during Monday night's game against the Cubs. Gerut is remembered by Cubs fans for his illustrious 11-game career in 2005, during which he picked up one hit and batted .071. Sadly, I am pretty sure I can remember...
