Joe Crede .260/.336/.480 is an All-Star. Jason Friggin Varitek .219/.301/.360 is an All-Star. Carlos Quentin .273/.378/.513 is an All-Star. Jason Giambi .259/.395/.543 is not an All-Star. Neither is Jorge Posada .281/.361/.446. Making the case for Mike Mussina is harder. The starters who beat him have better numbers. Do you really need six relievers on the team? I'm not sure if there are rules for...

Call these the "Barry Bonds" awards if you must, but let's take a look at some of the older players having incredible seasons. The only provision is that the player must be 35 or older. C: Jorge Posada Okay, so he's not matching the season he had last year, but Posada has produced pretty well when he's played. As a 36 year old I still don't know how many .800+ OPS seasons Posada has left in the chamber...

And I don't blame them. Two years ago when the Yankees brought Tony Pena on board, Posada became one of the best throwing catchers in all of baseball. I remember a series in Tampa Bay when he threw out Carl...

Jorge Posada's shoulder is going to be a work in progress, unless the Yankees determine that it isn't working. "Then we'll have some decisions to make," general manager Brian Cashman said.

In 2007, only 2 catchers hit 20 or more homeruns. Jorge Posada has been injured and only has 3 HR, while Victor Martinez currently sits on the DL and has yet to go deep. So how has the 2008 class of catchers improved? There are 5 catchers that are likely to hit 20 or more homeruns, 4 guys [...]

Today I will attempt to assemble an All-Star team using only players signed as free agents last winter. Argue away in the comments! C: Rod Barajas. Barajas is hitting a surprising .290/.349/.490 in 169 plate appearances, and he's only making $1.2MM. Jorge Posada is catching up though. 1B: Sean Casey. He's done a nice job in limited duty. 2B: Alexei Ramirez. One of the unheralded signings of last winter...

Jorge Posada was at first base yesterday. But Joe Girardi was quick to tell everyone not to read too much into it.

Inside their lockers in the Yankee Stadium clubhouse, Jorge Posada and LaTroy Hawkins have "Retire 21" stickers. They are part of a small but growing group that would like to see Roberto Clemente's No. 21 retired throughout Major League Baseball, as Jackie Robinson's No. 42 is. As much as Robinson did to change the game of baseball, many believe that Clemente had the same effect for Latinos.

Jorge Posada was activated from the disabled list 21 days ago. For each of those days, the Yankees have carried three catchers, in case they needed an emergency appearance. Three weeks is enough, though, to determine that Jorge is OK, and that the team need not continue wasting a roster spot on a third catcher. [...]

The Yankees feel bad for Willie Randolph. While Jorge Posada understands the politics of baseball, both he and Derek Jeter praised Randolph for his baseball skills and demeanor. Based on Brian Cashman’s statements, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Willie rejoin the Yankees in a Front Office capacity before too long. Post from: River Ave. Blues [...]
