You hear from most Mets fans that they want Xavier Nady to fill the whole created by the season ending injury to Moises Alou in left field. While I agree that Nady would be the perfect fit I think that based on the Pirates asking price and the competition for Nady's services, it will be very difficult for Omar to pull off the trade. The Pirates starting price will be two legitimate prospects and then...

Carlos Lee is a 32 y/o right handed power hitting left fielder with the Houston Astros. While his defense is questionable, his offense is incredible. Basically Lee is a younger version of Moises Alou, the biggest concern with Lee is whether he can keep himself in shape to play the field and most feel he's destine for DH duty. Ever since the Mets received the news that Moises Alou will not be coming back this season, the hunt has been on to fill the need in left field. MINAYA MAY SKIP DEALS, PROMOTE FROM MINORS TO HELP CLUB - New York Post Per Joel Sherman: 1) The organization is cautiously optimistic Ryan Church will soon return, making a righty-hitting left fielder to replace out-for-the-season Moises Alou the main priority. According to Joel Sherman of the Post, the Mets may look to promote players within their organization to fill in key roles down the stretch...Rather than dealing... The Mets may look at Fernando Martinez who was in spring training with the team to fill the possible hole left behind by Moises Alou. Jonathan Niese who also impressed the Mets brass this spring might have a chance to replace or

In a situation that seems reminiscent to Moises Alou last year when a bruised quad turned into a strained quad and finally it was revealed as a torn quad, Angel Pagan's condition was much worse then orginally revealed. It just didn't make sense that a bruised shoulder would hold a player out for over a month and could result in season ending surgery. Now Pagan is admitting that he has a torn labrum...
