Oh no , please please no. After being promoted from Class AAA Indianapolis Aug. 19, Morgan batted .347 -- 41 for 118 -- with 11 doubles and 20 runs. He reached base safely in 25 of 27 starts. Because of that, he is being considered for starting duty next year. "He did some really good things," manager John Russell said. "He was exciting. He really added a dimension to our offense. His missing three...

Certainly didn't seem like it, but it was there at Miller Park. - The bottom of the first and top of the second were perfect indications of this. The leadoff man for the Brewers reached on a Nyjer Morgan error. After an out, Ryan Braun hit a liner that Nate McLouth dove for and missed. Nate got up and threw the ball in wildly, Braun ended up at HOME PLATE, and Nate ended up with his first error. ---...

I completely missed this , but Primer caught it for me. There's not enough detail here to say definitively what happened, but it's a pretty interesting story on a number of levels. Morgan offered to bring three Dodgers players -- Russell Martin, Joe Beimel and Delwyn Young -- back to the Westin hotel after all had been at a nearby restaurant after the Pirates' 6-2 loss to Los Angeles on Tuesday. Just...

This is a really sad story. Pirates outfielder Nyjer Morgan was involved in an incident with the Pittsburgh police outside PNC Park Wednesday night. According to Morgan, he wad giving Dodgers Joe Biemel, Delwyn Young and Russell Martin back to the Westin Hotel after dinner when he was pulled over because “the tint on his vehicle [...]

As if you didn't have enough reason to be depressed, I point you to two sad articles from Pirates.com-- one about Nyjer Morgan , and one about Neil Walker. You know you're in the midst of a really bad year when the mothership has to resort to articles like this. Morgan first: However, Morgan seems to have left Pearce behind him, becoming a top-of-the-order catalyst that has forced management to rethink...

When Nyjer Morgan was thrown out at the plate trying to score on an errant pickoff throw Monday night, he violated one of baseball's unwriten rules.

As the 2007 season approached its conclusion, it frustrated me to no end to watch Nyjer Morgan repeatedly start over Nate McLouth and Steve Pearce. Morgan does not have a future as a starter in Major League Baseball, and it was ridiculous to put him in the lineup when players with much more potential [...]

Nyjer Morgan, in a 0-0 game in the fourth, leads off with a single. In an Astro attempt to pick him off, the throw sails wild. Nyjer cruises to 2nd and since he is super-fast also easily takes third as the ball bounces off the wall into right field. Just before he reaches 3rd, Lance Berkman finally picks up the ball. Nyjer takes a big turn around third and dances around a bit (Berkman holding the ball...

During tonight's game, the Pirates broadcasters repeatedly mentioned that Neal Huntington had been asked about the possibility of playing both Nate McLouth and Nyjer Morgan in the outfield at the same time, and he would not rule it out. A couple of caveats: first, if I were Huntington I might not publicly rule this out either, and anyway it would be ridiculous to do so--if a team only has four outfielders...

-P- Tom Gorzelanny will start tonight against the Brewers; Paul Maholm and Jeff Karstens will each be pushed back a day. Also, Matt Capps should be activated today. The Trib reports that Romulo Sanchez and Nyjer Morgan are will be sent back to Class AAA to make room, but that doesn't seem right to me. If Morgan is sent back, then it's possible the Pirates' centerfielder the rest of this series could...
