Clamoring for a trade... Sheesh... what Phillies fans were doing with Pat Burrell before late 2007 was clambering. We're a lot nicer to Garrett, and we certainly acknowledge that he is one of the two best hitters on the team this season -assuming Chris Iannetta is overreaching his potential a bit with his start- and very grateful for his role in last season's team. I'm just waiting to hear...

Ken Rosenthal has a new column up. I put the Griffey info in a separate post; let's discuss the rest. Rosenthal suggests that Brad Lidge would be harder to replace than Pat Burrell, and for that reason the Phillies will make a bigger effort to re-sign him. I imagine Phillies fans would prefer that course of action. The problem? The Phillies have little chance of offering four years, according...

I read a fun little stat in the Inky yesterday: Entering last night, Chase Utley, with 13 home runs, and Pat Burrell, with nine, had combined for more homers than six teams: the New York Mets (20), San Francisco Giants (19), Oakland A’s (18), Washington Nationals (18), Kansas City Royals (16) and Minnesota Twins (16). Wowzers. [...]

Adam Rubin / NY Daily News : Mets left stranded with another loss — LOS ANGELES - Move over Pat Burrell, there's a new Met-killer in the National League. Most people who have been with us for a while know that we have supported (especially me) Pat Burrell for the entire time we've been blogging. I still hear people on WIP rip Pat for past actions like that time he struck out or whatever (Rhea Hughes, I'm looking at you). It is pathetic and shows how much people really know. Like all of the sudden Pat became a different person from June 30th...

This photo of Pat Burrell 's rear, meant mostly to make Melissa's day, was snapped after the Philadelphia Phillies tough-as-nails left fielder smashed a 3-2 pitch from San Francisco Giants righty Brian Wilson into the left-field seats with two out in the bottom of the tenth Friday night for the game-winner . After 5 upper-nineties fastballs whizzed by The Bat, he took the sixth one deep for...
