Pat Neshek is out of the Minnesota Twins lineup, likely for the rest of the year. He has an acute partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, as shown on an MRI from Friday, May 9, 2008. Neshek and the organization are hoping he won't need Tommy John surgery, as that would [...]

I was watching the Twins and White Sox last Thursday when Pat Neshek hurt his elbow. It came the way you never want to see a pitcher get hurt (save for maybe a line drive off their head): Just throwing a pitch. Neshek has always had one of the oddest deliveries I've ever seen from a pitcher, and it has the kind of spastic motions where I felt it was only a matter of time before something...

Couple of injuries, couple of designations, and a waiver claim. Twins reliever Pat Neshek has an acute partial tear of the UCL. Yes, that's the Tommy John ligament. He won't throw for at least three months, so his season is essentially over. There's no word on whether he'll undergo surgery. I remember hearing over the winter that Neshek was having elbow problems. Not that we didn't pretty...

Pat Neshek and the Minnesota Twins saw the bad news coming. The side-winding set-up man injured himself on a slider in the eighth Thursday against the Chicago White Sox , describing the feeling as a "tweak" in the joint. After an MRI on Friday revealed an acute partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow-- the same ligament repaired during Tommy John surgery -- he landed on the...

The results of today's MRI on Pat Neshek's right elbow were not good . La Velle E. Neil reported on his blog that Neshek has been diagnosed with an acute partial tear of the ulner collateral ligament. Yes, that said tear, and yes, that's the Tommy John ligament. The word on what that means right now is Neshek will not throw for at least 3 months. Surgery has not been mentioned...

MINNEAPOLIS - The Twins have to be upset by news of Pat Neshek going on the 15-day disabled list with a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. A terrific set-up man in the past, Neshek was 0-1 with ba 4.73 ERA this season in 15 appearances. Glen Perkins will be activated tomorrow. Jon Lester lasted 5-1/3 innings and has been replaced by David Aardsma in the...

It's been a while since we checked in on Pat Neshek’s web site, and that's really a shame. Maybe he fell out of sight, out of mind with a slow start to this season (last night's seven-pitch inning not included). His recent review of the 2008 Topps Heritage baseball cards was enjoyable, but what really [...]

A quick look at Pat Neshek over the past couple of years: 2006: 32 appearances, 2 blown saves 2007: 74 appearances, 3 blown saves 2008: 6 appearances, 2 blown saves Granted, this is a small sample size, but Neshek's already been bombed twice this year, and both times the Twins were ahead when he came in and behind when he came out. This just didn't happen that often in 2006 and 2007....

Down four runs twice, Detroit came alive with a six-run eighth inning off usually reliable Matt Guerrier and Pat Neshek.

Links of the Day: - Amongst the items Pat Neshek brings with him on road trips? A blender and a juicer. In case you didn't know he's a vegan, which obviously raises good questions concerning his take on Dmitri Young. - In case you missed it, everyone in the Mitchell Report gets a free pass. At least all that money it took to finance the investigation was put to good usage. Picture of the Day:...

It wasn’t the best of days for Twins fans when dealing with grand slams yesterday. Not only did Joe Crede put one on the board off Pat Neshek to sink the Twins in Chicago, but Torii Hunter also had a walk-off granny for the Angels and is white hot since a tough start here at [...]
