Would you take something like this into account when deciding whether to sign with Portland? The Western Conference balloting at guard shows Brandon Roy 10th, trailing the likes of Rafer Alston, Tracy McGrady, Jason Kidd and other has-beens and never-wases. And this, I’m afraid is the way it’s going to be most of the time out here [...]

BOSTON -- From 19 consecutive victories and the best start in NBA history (27-2), the defending champions have now lost six of eight games. The Celtics' unanticipated conquerors include the sub-.500 Warriors, Knicks and Bobcats, as well as the shorthanded Trail Blazers (without Brandon Roy) and Rockets (minus Tracy McGrady). And none of this can be blamed on injury, as the Celtics have had their full...

This is a good team. We are a good team, though perhaps not as good without Brandon Roy. How will it turn out? A win tonight would be nice. At least one of the next two is mandatory if we are to avoid an official losing streak...our first of the year. Register all of your game-related thoughts here! --Dave ( blazersub@yahoo.com ) Edit: I don't usually backseat coach in-game but I'm making an exception....

Minnesotans love to lament sports stars who got away. Just accept that as fact. From David Ortiz to Brandon Roy to even, yes, Tyler Thigpen, players who go on to even modest success when they “could have been ours” are much talked about. Usually. One exception to this rule, at least in our experience: Fred [...]

Unsettled times? Uncertainty? Hey, Brandon Roy is out a few games. The schedule, including tonight’s game, has been brutal for the last four games. Let’s relax just a little bit, OK? I mean, the trading deadline is still a full month away and I don’t know if it’s time to panic quite yet. There seems to be [...]

I learned something last night as the Trail Blazer game got out of reach in the 4th quarter. Portland is not a great team right now without Brandon Roy. They remind me a lot of the bad teams in the NBA, hanging around for 2 quarters, but when the good team goes on a run, the game is virtually over. It’s frustrating to watch, realistically the Blazers should have been up by 10-15 points at half time...

BLAZERS LAKERS EDGE COMMENT Steve Blake has had one of his best seasons thus far, and I think he's going to bounce back off a rough outing. He'll have to help the Blazers out a lot, considering Brandon Roy is now out for at least a week. Fisher is a solid PG, probably perfect on a team with Kobe Bryant, but he won't be as good as Blake tonight. Ugh, we were going to need Roy in this game and now it...

by Matt Moore Filed under: Trail Blazers , NBA Injuries Okay, good news, bad news, Blazers fans. Good news: An MRI showed "no significant changes" to the knee of Brandon Roy which has sidelined him recently. So you can go ahead and exhale into the bag. Bad news: He's out 7-10 days, according to an official team release via Blazer's Edge . That would of course include Sunday's game versus the Lakers....
