Sarah took me to the Blazers game last night (a surprising victory over the Pistons — woo hoo!) and surprised me with this excellent hand-screened Channing Frye shirt. So cool! I’m hoping it isn’t really cursed… In a nutshell for the crafty multitudes who are not Blazers fans, Channing kind of translates everything I love about [...]

I have a terrible, sinking feeling that my latest screen printing project may be cursed. Which is truly unfortunate. Before you continue reading this post, I do want to make an important point: I’m not a Fan Girl. And I’m certainly not a Channing Frye Fan Girl. If I were going to be a Fan Girl [...] Related posts: Bingo, Bango, Bongo! That post title doesn’t really mean anything, but it’s a... Just...

This time it’s the New York Daily News talking about a three-team trade that would bring Lee to Portland and send Channing Frye and Marcus Camby back to the Knicks. Frank Isola characterizes Portland’s desire for Lee as “dogged pursuit.” However, Wendell Maxey has been all over this story for days at Hoopsworld and doesn’t sound so [...]

Knicks consider trade to bring back Marcus Camby There was a report of the Knicks being involved in a deal that would send Quentin Richardson to the Clippers and Lee to Portland, with the Knicks getting back Camby and former Knicks first-round pick Channing Frye. Walsh, however, denied having discussed that trade with the Clippers and [...]

Posted by Kevin Arnovitz The degree to which pro ballplayers assimilate in their cities varies wildly. Some guys confine themselves to a small tract that includes the arena, practice facility, the airport, and their house or condo. The smaller the circumference around the circle that surrounds those points, the better. The NBA season is essentially an extended 8-month business trip. Come spring, it'...

Blazers Edge: Trade for Jamison? A discussion about whether the Blazers should pursue Antawn Jamison. I jumped in the comments section to propose Jamison for Travis Outlaw, Channing Frye and either Sergio Rodriguez or Jerrryd Bayless. Outlaw could be good enough to move Caron the 2, Frye gives us cap room and Sergio/Bayless could be our PG of the future. Either way, worth reading.

Is Pittsburgh’s signing of reality TV contestants Dinesh Patel and Rinku Signh (above) a cheap stunt or is it, in the words of Bleacher Report’s Josh Lipman “an unprecedented act of progressivism”? I don’t know nearly enough about the subcontinental pair to judge, but if their early blogging efforts are anything to go by, Spring [...]

Channing Frye is a Center/Power Forward for the Portland Trailblazers. He’s also a blogger. Scratch that, he’s really the only real NBA blogger: unlike Agent Zero, who literally phones in his blog posts, Frye is typing all on his own, and cracking jokes that probably scare his management. Take his most recent post, a review [...]

With all due respect to Gilbert Arenas, Rod Benson and uh, Mark Madsen, the Blazers’ Channing Frye continues to hone his celeb blogger chops. Having previously poked fun at Portland’s boho rep, Frye turns his attentions to an ill-advised decision to attend a screening of “Saw V” (”it was a Sunday night. We were bored [...]

Don't know if anybody saw them, but we had two tests of the NBA's new expanded replay rules in Thursday's game. Both were on Channing Frye jumpers and both were probably requested more to get the referees familiar with the new system. The first came on Frye's 20-footer with 6:50 left in the second quarter. Referee Ron Garretson asked the official scorer to write down the time 6:40 and the crew gathered...

Heading into last year Brandon Roy was the only "known" factor, but both LaMarcus Aldridge and Martell Webster showed that they can contribute to a winning team. Unfortunately, the injury bug has already hit the Trail Blazers as both Webster (stress fracture) and Channing Frye (bone spurs) will likely miss the start of the new year.
