The Sixers last met the Bucks, in Milwaukee, on December 17th. Going into that game, both teams were struggling about 5 games under .500. That was the night Elton Brand was lost to injury. Since Philly's 93-88 win, the teams have gone in different directions.

When the 76ers left last month for their six-game trip, they left behind power forward Elton Brand. They left him to recover, to rehabilitate his dislocated right shoulder; they left him to get healthy and return to the floor.

No more excuses. On their mammoth road trip, the Sixers showed signs of life, they played well enough to win a couple of those games against tough teams. But they were on the road, and they were missing Elton Brand, and they got an unlucky bounce. The buts have to stop at this point.

The Sixers will make their first trip to LA to face the Clippers since poaching Elton Brand from them tonight. Unfortunately, Brand won't be there. Calling the Utah game one they should have won may have been a tad optimistic, but this one absolutely has to go the Sixers' way.

The Jazz come back home after the disappointing loss in Houston, as they host the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. Posted by Kevin Arnovitz How much of Baron Davis' homecoming to Los Angeles was predicated on Elton Brand's presence on the left block remains a mystery. Davis has been politic when asked about whether Brand left him in the lurch by signing with the Sixers after Davis inked his deal with the Clippers. On the court, Davis has struggled. He's shooting below 37% from the field, and his rebounding and...

A source close to the situation insisted Friday that the plan remains for Arenas to return the court in the near future -- not unlike Elton Brand's comeback with the Clippers late last season from an Achilles' tear with no hope of getting to the postseason -- in spite of where the Wiz are in the standings and the obvious long-term concerns about Arenas being healthy enough to live up to his contract....

It looks like the Lakers will not be the only LA contenders for the playoffs. The Clippers signed the All-Star Baron Davis for five years and $65 million. If Elton Brand and Corey Maggette decide to stay, even though they both opted their contracts to become free agents, the Clippers will be a dominant team in the Western Conference. Davis battled injuries and still managed to play in all 82 games...
