Time to fully recover from the injuries he has suffered the past two seasons and time on the basketball court to rediscover his game - the one that produced 20 points and 10 rebounds for nine seasons and enticed the 76ers to sign him before last season for 5 years and $80 million.

Nine made threes. Career game for Lou Williams and clearly his best of the year, on both ends. Elton Brand continues his resurgence in a big way, four more blocks, four more steals, 8/14 from the floor, 6/7 from the line. Only three made threes for Memphis. Still, somehow, a loss. The reason is clear as day, we'll explore after the jump.

I'll admit it, Elton Brand's play against the Bobcats has me excited. Yes, it was one game, but he did things in that game that I worried he'd never be able to do again. The 76ers nearly tossed away Elton Brand's comeback performance. After leading since the first quarter, the Sixers fell behind late and then snatched back the lead with 3.9 seconds left, defeating the Charlotte Bobcats, 86-84, last night at the Wachovia Center.

If you're looking for a celebration for that win, you're going to have to look elsewhere. It took a monster effort from Elton Brand, in 42 minutes of work, to squeak out a two-point win over a hapless Bobcats team, at home. That's really not something to celebrate.
