With the Griner dunk hysteria, Jonathan Abrams from the Times writes: For Some N.B.A. Players, There’s No Such Thing as a Slam Dunk Jason Kapono doesn’t dunk. That fact would be unremarkable were it not for his occupation and his height. Kapono plays for the Philadelphia 76ers and is 6 feet 8 inches. He is in his seventh N.B.A. season, but the only dunks he has thrown down in all that time...

By Henry Abbott After New York Knick Trent Tucker caught a pass and released a jumper in a measly one tenth of a second, the NBA made a rule saying that no such shot could be allowed unless there were at least three tenths of a second on the clock. Is 0.3 of a second really the magic threshold? A TV show investigated , and found that Jason Kapono could catch and fire (they're unclear about whether...

Lou Williams scored 18 points and Jason Kapono had 14 for Philadelphia, which rebounded from a 31-point loss to Boston three days earlier.

Jason Kapono and Rodney Carney were suppose to come in and help the Sixers at least compete from three-point range. Kapono is a marksman of the highest order, Carney is at least league average, which makes him a vast improvement over the guys on the roster. How have these guys helped through the first four games?

Shooting isn't a secret recipe. The 76ers' best shooter, recently acquired Jason Kapono, will share his ingredients with anyone - feet at shoulder width, elbow in, hips squared to the rim - because, more than anyone, Kapono knows the separation point isn't knowing what to do, it's having done it hundreds of times a day for nearly two decades.
