Where is the low-post scoring?

Some front-line scoring would help the Pistons' backcourt, which has carried the load so far this season. Off-season acquisition Charlie Villanueva is about the only scoring threat in the post for the Pistons, who get a bulk of their points from guards Ben Gordon, Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum. Ben Wallace (3.6 points) isn't supposed to score. His assignment is to play defense, rebound...

Jason Maxiell rejects Shannon Brown’s dunk

Shannon Brown has been known to posterize a player or two in his young NBA career. Word has gotten around in the league too. Most of the time when he’s coming down the lane now, guys have been giving him the “And1″ treatment (Actually, that’s par for the course in the NBA). But Jason [...]

Recap: Lakers 106, Pistons 93

Temper, temper: In the fourth quarter, Pistons' Jason Maxiell, who scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds, cleanly blocked a breakaway dunk attempt from former MSU star Shannon Brown. Maxiell and Andrew Bynum later picked up technical fouls for jawing with each other.

The best Jason Maxiell story you probably haven’t heard

I, as well as many of you, read the blurb over the summer about Jason Maxiell getting hitched to his longtime fiance Brandi. What I never remember reading about was how Brandi was an ovarian cancer survivor and that Jason helped her beat the disease. Remember a couple of years ago when Maxy was sporting the [...]

Big men deserve credit, too

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — There were many heroes in the Pistons' 96-74 opening victory over the Grizzlies on Wednesday night. The headlines were dominated by Ben Gordon and Rip Hamilton combining for 47 points to momentarily put to rest doubts whether the two shooting guards could coexist. But when first-year coach John Kuester was asked about the duo's performance, he talked more about...

Ted Kuflan of the Detroit News says JONAS JEREBKO, who started on Saturday against the Grizzlies, has moved in front of CHRIS WILCOX and JASON MAXIELL in the rotation.
