Thanks to wjb1492 for today's game preview . My initial thoughts on this game is that the Murder Train A Comin' . Then I figured that the Bulls do have a chance to out-hustle and out-run an especially immobile Cavs team. Then I figured that without Tyrus Thomas they don't really have this especially athletic roster conducive to running. Hinrich, Salmons, Taj, Miller, gimpy Rose.... even though Deng...

Now that Tyrus Thomas missed Wednesday's practice and didn't fly to Cleveland with the team, those covering the team* have toned down linking Tyrus's flu symptoms with any issues Tyrus has had recently with VDN or pseudo-coach Lindsey Hunter (a whole separate issue, that). Everything published Thursday morning mentions Thomas's illness as just an illness. But just days before, it was instead 'the flu',...

The players voted captains for this season (ht: Chicagoist , of all places), and your winners are holdovers Hinrich and Deng, and new captain...Jannero Pargo. This process and result never manages to get less lame. I know they're mostly in charge of talking to the officials, but is it that crazy for the captains to perhaps include your best player (Rose) , or the actual vocal defensive leader (Noah)?...

With the season opener just days away now, the Chicago Bulls are making a few small maneuvers to get all their ducks in a row before they tip off Thursday night. The Tribune reports that the team has named Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng and Lindsey Hunter as team captains for the 2009-2010 season. Also, in a move that surprises no one, the team picked up the options on contracts for Derrick Rose and Joakim...

With the Bulls going into camp with only 13 guaranteed contracts (as did most NBA teams, though none quite as profitable), and with a few minor injuries already popping up, the unsigned FAs on the roster may be more important than originally planned. And 'important' could merely mean 'get through these mandatory preseason games', though with Aaron Gray out for 6 weeks, and Lindsey Hunter really only...
