- Coach Larry Brown laments how much his team loves the 3-point line. So far the 3-point line hasn’t loved back; this team has made 25 percent of its 3s (7-of-28). It doesn’t help that rookie D.J. Augustin is 1-of-7...

Good news: The Bobcats improved. Their offensive and defensive efficiencies both improved dramatically from the debacle against the Magic. On offense, they went from 78.4 points per 100 possessions to 83.2; that is, admittedly, still atrocious, but it is an improvement. Defensively, the change was even more dramatic, dropping from 116.8 to 98.9 points per 100 poss. The bad news: As you can see they...

From Larry Brown's overalls to Doug Moe's sideline prowling and the Alex English-era rainbow skyline uniforms, the Nuggets never have been a team to follow the rules.

That was not quite the start I was hoping for and I do not think I am alone in that. "I wish I would have stayed retired" - Larry, I am sure you said that in a joking manner, but, seriously? Almost no one expects you to stick around for that long and comments like that are unlikely to inspire confidence. With the Wanderer stuff mentioned - the starters (Felton, Jason, Gerald, May, Okafor) were expected...

Stray thoughts between Orlando and Memphis exhibitions: --I figured it wouldn’t take long for Jared Dudley to impress Larry Brown. Dudley was playing mostly with the third team in training camp, but Brown singled him out for praise following that...

GREENBURGH, N.Y. - It didn't go as far as the theatrical march into the arena arm-in-arm with Larry Brown, but Stephon Marbury's latest attempt to make nice with a coach was still purposely publicized.

, N.C. - Dean Smith's seat was directly at midcourt and a baby-blue sweater rested on his lap. Roy Williams, in a baby-blue polo shirt, sat to his left. A few feet away, Larry Brown kept making the Charlotte Bobcats run, run and run some more. It was just...

Larry Brown says the Charlotte Bobcats might be the best jump-shooting team he’s coached. Whoa! Didn’t see that one coming. What Brown said makes a lot more sense when placed in context. He’s not saying any individual shooter on this...

Bobcats coach Larry Brown would love to get Dean Smith back into basketball. That’s not to suggest the retired North Carolina coach (and Brown mentor) needs or wants a job. It’s more that Brown sees Smith as an exceptional resource....

I received this great link to a Sam Harris article from my friend Larry Brown. One of the most truly terrifying things about the last eight years has been the triumph of ignorance. There has always been a tendency on the right to demonize intelligence, referring to educated, intelligent people as 'ivory tower elitists' and 'eggheads', and conflating brains with being 'out of touch' with the 'real folks'....
