Allen Iverson famously challenged the idea that practice meant anything. With all due respect to AI, he’s an idiot. It took a while to really let everything come together in this mystery, but the truth was illuminated retroactively. The recipe for playing football in inclement weather is as basic as Easy Mac: run the ball [...]

The buzz out of Denver is that there are no untouchables. That means for a team trying to reinvent itself, there could be plenty for the Heat to grab hold of. No, not Allen Iverson. That just doesn't make sense...

From where Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant was to where he is now must be an object lesson to the Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony. None of Anthony's mishaps with the law or with society, nor any of teammate Allen Iverson's come to that, can compare to Bryant, now the Most Valuable Player in basketball. read more

We’ve all seen it and I don't care how many times I see it, this tirade is absolutely amazing. Clearly Allen Iverson is one of the fiercest and tough basketball players to ever walk on the court, but his philosophies on the game are incredible. The NBA is Fannnnntastic!

I always find myself more drawn to players than to teams. When the Pistons used to play Philadelphia, I'd always try to go just to see Allen Iverson. Same with Ichiro on the Mariners. Or when a phenom pitcher is throwing, I try to get down to the Copa to see him.

So let me get this straight . . . The Denver Nuggets spent heavily to acquire a post-30 Allen Iverson. The Phoenix Suns spent heavily to acquire 36-year-old Shaquille O'Neal. And the New Jersey Nets had to rent a Brinks truck to haul off the loot they stole from the Dallas Mavericks in the deal for 35-year-old Jason Kidd.

Much has been said about Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony in this forum. Given the story told - Melo and The Answer are overrated - one might expect me to note that the 76ers without Iverson have won more playoffs games the past two seasons than the Nuggets have won with The Answer. But that's [...]

Late in his introductory news conference with his ninth NBA team Tuesday, new Charlotte Bobcats coach Larry Brown brought back memories of his famous feud in Philadelphia with Allen Iverson, his then-star point guard. "I used to worry that maybe I didn't prepare these guys for the things they might encounter for games," Brown said. "That was the hard part for me. But practice, practice....

Sweep! I hope all you faithful readers got your brooms out because I sure did. The Lakers simply manhandled the Denver Nuggets four games in a row. High altitude? No problem. Carmelo Anthony? Thirty-two for 88. Allen Iverson? Four technical fouls. The most annoying thing about the chicken nuggets was their constant whining to the officials.
