N.C. State coach Tom O’Brien is beginning to show the strain. O’Brien came off tired, disappointed, irritated and — for the first time this season — a bit dispirited Saturday. The Wolfpack had lost to Florida State 27-10. Tailback Andre Brown had suffered a broken foot and was lost for the year. The Wolfpack (1-5, 0-3 [...]

The N&O's Late Hits : WOLFPACK'S KARMA We didn't expect N.C. State to pull off the upset at Florida State, but did the football gods also have to claim Andre Brown (broken foot)? There is not enough alcohol in the world to deal with this. Hill, Baker, Pressley, and possibly Andre Brown and John Dunlap as well? Why do you smite us so, football gods? Is it something we did? Because we're sorry. We're really, really sorry. Puttin' the ol' cherry on top of the fuck sundae was the piece of news I saw scroll across the bottom of CSTV after I'd returned to the hotel: "NC State F Johnny...

If thinking about our QB situation rightly makes you a bit squeamish, the RB position will be perhaps our one true area of strength. WRAL's blog has a nice article on that topic. Junior running backs Toney Baker or Andre Brown were each brought to Raleigh as former national top-100 recruits, and in their freshman [...]
