As the free agent forwards fly off the market, it's looking more likely that the Wizards will enter next season with Dominic McGuire as the backup small forward. That's not to say that he's the only guy currently on the roster that can fill the role, as Andray Blatche and Antawn Jamison can play the small forward position in a pinch, but he's the natural fit. If he could provide solid backup minutes...

We might not have to deal with Josh Childress in the Eastern Conference this year. Or the Western conference... Remember that bizarre Antawn Jamison to Greece rumor ? Maybe we just had that thing wrong the whole time.

After re-signing both Arenas and team captain Antawn Jamison this month, and adding backup point guard Dee Brown, the Wizards are between $1 million and $1.5 million under the NBA luxury tax for the coming season. Washington Times . Huh? How did that happen? I thought we established that we had 3.4 million before signing Dee Brown. Where did all that money go? If we knew we'd have this little under...

The NBA's free-agent signing period begins Wednesday, meaning teams can officially ink players to contracts. Gilbert Arenas (Wizards), Antawn Jamison (Wizards) and Baron Davis (Clippers) have already reached agreement on new deals. But with the moratorium now about to end, and the NBA accountants coming with the final salary-cap numbers, the rest of the league's dominos can begin to fall.

Sir Hollinger, you know I like you as an analyst, but I need to take issue to this : In three seasons with the trio of Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler , the Wizards have won 43, 41 and 42 games and haven't made it past the first round of the playoffs. The three players are 26, 28 and 32, respectively, so it seems likely that we've seen about the best we're going to get from them. They're an...

The Wizards (Antawn Jamison, presumably Gilbert Arenas) and Clippers (Baron Davis) have made big moves so far on the free agent market. That can only mean one thing ... Philadelphia 76ers. You are on the clock!

The Wiz have re-signed Antawn Jamison to a contract (4 years, $50MM). They are now considering whether to sign Gilbert Arenas to a 6 year $124 million contract, the maximum allowed by the NBA for players not under contract prior to the league's institution of the maximum salary guidelines (for example, Kevin Garnett stands to make the very round figure of $24,750,000 this year -- he was a grandfathered...

The Warriors want Gilbert Arenas back. Badly. I think if the Wizards hadn't re-signed Antawn Jamison so quickly and aggressively, Gilbert would have thought twice; now, I can't seem him turning down roughly equal money to bail on teammates and a town he loves in D.C. (One rumor has the Maloofs desperate to bring him to Sacto; I understand the impulse: As I've been saying for a while, if you're not...
