This is the second in a three-part series on Jazz point guard Deron Williams - from his childhood days as a wrestler in Texas, to nearly winning an NCAA championship at Illinois, to becoming floor general of the Utah Jazz and perhaps landing a contract worth as much as $90 million.

When the NBA's summer negotiating period opens late tonight, don't expect any immediate announcement of agreement on a contract extension between point guard Deron Williams and the Jazz.

Here is an overview of the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft, and possible sleepers from the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft. 1. Chicago Bulls - Derrick Rose, G, Memphis - The Bulls pick up the best pure PG entering the draft since Jason Kidd (apologies to Chris Paul and Deron Williams). He has a pro ready body and plenty of young talent surrounding him in Chicago to help ensure early success. Should...

JERRY ZGODA, a man so important his name is in all-caps at the Standard Examiner (a daily that covers holes in Utah's spacetime continuum ), wrote this about smallish NBA players drafted below inferior, yet biggish NBA players. Andrew Bogut and Marvin Williams over Deron Williams and Paul in 2005. Michael Olowokandi over Mike Bibby in 1998. Glenn Robinson over Jason Kidd in 1994. Derrick Coleman over...

Here's a question for Utah Jazz fans: Can you imagine a frontcourt featuring Carlos Boozer and Andrew Bynum? Can you imagine this team, currently constructed without Deron Williams?
