The last time the Sixers acquired Theo Ratliff, it was the impetus for a run to the finals. Ratliff was traded to the Sixers from the Pistons, along with Aaron McKie, for Jerry Stackhouse. That move broke up probably the...

The Kings apparently countered that awful Jerry Stackhouse/Brandon Bass offer from Dallas with the obvious: Give us Josh Howard. The Dallas Morning News says the Mavericks are unwilling to consider that . Apparently, this isn't the first time the Kings have tried to pry Howard away. He'd be an upgrade on John Salmons, for sure -- he's a tenacious defender, a decently efficient scorer, a great rebounder....

The Mavericks reportedly were willing to offer forward Brandon Bass and guard Jerry Stackhouse for Artest. The Kings wanted Josh Howard included in the deal and this seemed to halt all discussion between the 2 teams. Unless the Mavs are willing to give up Howard or the Kings get desperate (not likely) to settle for less, a deal is not likely to get done. Today is the deadline for the Lakers to let...

Filed under: Kings , Mavericks , NBA Rumors The Mavericks are said to be the latest team interested in acquiring Ron Artest , but so far, their offer to trade for the mercurial (I love that word) star is a little light. Dallas is said to be offering up Jerry Stackhouse (decent player, veteran grit, solid scorer) and Brandon Bass (young, inexpensive, and possibly a Jason Maxiell -light) for Artest,...

Sam Amick reports that the Mavericks offered Brandon Bass and Jerry Stackhouse for Ron Artest. Amick also notes that the Mavs are unlikely to offer Josh Howard and that he doesn't see Petrie doing the deal as offered. Amick's post indicates that Lamar Odom is available, but the potential Artest and Kenny Thomas for Odom deal is on hold until the Lakers decide whether to match the Warriors offer for...

As of Sunday evening, the Dallas Mavericks have only seven players on the roster currently under contract: Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Jason Kidd, Josh Howard, Erick Dampier, Brandon Bass and Jerry Stackhouse. Eddie Jones will likely become the eighth when he picks up his $1.9 million option for next season. Other free agents [...]

The one Mavs opinion I was interested in hearing of Rick Carlisle as coach of the Mavericks was Jerry Stackhouse, and David Moore printed that today in the Dallas Morning News. What's so interesting about Stackhouse's opinion? Well, you hear it from every sportswriter in Dallas: Jerry Stackhouse is the one Maverick player who never talks in soundbites. He doesn't hesitate to tell you how he feels,...

It is Scott's first time to win the award. Scott guided the Hornets to one of the biggest turnarounds in the NBA this season, and the 2nd seed in the West. Hours before the Dallas Mavericks' biggest game of the year, forward Josh Howard went on the radio Friday to talk about something else - his fondness for marijuana. It was quite a follow-up to teammate Jerry Stackhouse calling opposing coach Byron Scott "a sucker in my book" on local airwaves. Howard's comments are more serious because marijuana use is illegal and eligible for punishment from the NBA....

In case you missed it, here are the comments Jerry Stackhouse made during his radio show on Wednesday... "Chris [Paul] is such a great guy, I think he's been able to kind of deal with Byron Scott. I don't think Byron Scott is the best coach. I don't think he's the best guy to deal with -- you know what I'm saying? -- from some things that I've heard from other players and just some dealings that I...
