The Gift That Keeps On Giving (Ridicule)

Rashard Lewis clocks in at number eighteen ( updated, thanks to commenter Farfa-ed.) on the biggest sports contracts of all tim e. We've tried defending that contract before, but it's just too big. It swallows you whenever you try and approach it. It's like the House of Leaves , it's actually bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. Enjoy, Magic fans!

New Steelers Owner Trades Hines Ward

Um, so I guess the Steelers were sold overnight, and new owner Stanley Druckenmiller has made a blockbuster deal to trade Hines Ward to the NBA's Orlando Magic for Rashard Lewis. Tradition is gone in Pittsburgh, and the new owner is taking the Tampa Bay Lightning-do-anything-approach to the front office. I've seen Hines play basketball, about 5 or 6 years ago at a Steelers vs. Faculty charity

This year, Magic shopping for a bargain

The Orlando Magic were the big spenders in free-agency last summer, signing forward Rashard Lewis. It's no coincidence then that they're expected to be bargain-hunters this summer.

NBA Draft Crystal Ballin': Orlando Magic

Filed under: Magic , Eastern , NBA Draft Crystal Ballin' ta kes a team-by-team look at what should, could, and probably will happen in the June 26th NBA Draft. After making big moves last summer (handing Rashard Lewis the keys to the bank, hiring Billy Donovan , cutting ties with Donovan, hiring Stan Van Gundy ), the Magic have to settle for small tweaks this summer. Fortunately, after winning 52...

5 Proposed Trades For Melo

By Alex of NBAtipoff The Denver Nuggets need to trade Carmelo Anthony. They don’t play defense, he hasn’t been molded into a team player yet–all of that allowed the Lakers to sweep the Nuggets. So, I’ve come up with five deals that Denver might consider. 5. Rashard Lewis (makes about $14.9 million) and Jameer Nelson ($2 million) head [...]

Rashard Lewis: 'They Had to Go Out There and Win the Game, It Wasn't Handed to Them'

Filed under: Pistons , Magic , Eastern , NBA Playoffs , Detroit Notes from a trip to the NBA Playoffs . About 45 minutes before Game 5 between the Pistons and Magic tipped off Tuesday night, Rashard Lewis and I had a conversation about his team's string of bad luck, how competitive the series has been and the role Detroit's experience plays in determining the outcome. As you know by now, his hopes...

Referee Mike Callahan Gets Cold Feet, But All Anyone Wants to Talk About is Jameer Nelson

As we covered earlier , there's no shortage of outrage/disbelief that Jameer Nelson, the Magic point guard who averaged a mere 10.9 points and 5.6 assists this season, guaranteed a victory for the Magic tomorrow night, and to a much lesser extent, that Rashard Lewis thinks the Magic are a better team than the Pistons. Oh, the nerve of that Jameer Nelson! How dare one of the team's captains expresses...

Facing Elimination, Rashard Lewis Remains Delusional Confident

by Marcel Mutoni The Pistons played without their floor general Chauncey Billups in Game Four, and still, they managed to outsmart and outgut the young and inexperienced Magic on their own home floor. They have them on the ropes. As the series shifts back to Detroit, and with Chauncey's hamstring starting to feel better, there’s no reason to believe Orlando has a shot at forcing the series back to...
