Considering how much e-ink I have put to virtual paper on Raymond over the last few months...I think this one is going to be link heavy, rather than chart heavy. That ok with you? Good, with that settled, let's have at it. The MVP of the Bobcats in 07-08 - Through some flawed analysis on my part and lots of assumptions, Raymond came out looking like the defensive MVP of the team last year. In reality,...

Filed under: Bobcats , Eastern , NBA Draft , NBA Gossip , NBA Rumors , Charlotte The Bobcats, needless to say, had a curious draft. Everyone expected Brook Lopez ' name to get called at nine; after all, what need does Charlotte have with D.J. Augustin if Raymond Felton is the future at point guard? (Answer: exactly.) But Charlotte reaffirmed today that Felton is going to keep starting and that Augustin...

While Charlotte GM Rod Higgins has denied Thursday’s selection of D.J. Augustin at no. 9 overall is a precursor to shipping Raymond Felton to New York, that David Lee is one of the Knicks’ only coveted assets — outside of a certain self-proclaimed no. 1 point guard in the NBA’s expiring contract — is hard [...]

Just got back downstairs and there were a couple of odd picks. How about Charlotte taking D.J. Augustin at No. 9? Remember, they already have Raymond Felton at point guard. New Jersey went with Brook Lopez and the Nets picked up a pick ‘n pop forward in Yi Jinlian and also have Josh Boone and Sean Williams in the middle. Indiana took Jerryd Bayless, but it looks as though he won’t stay in a Pacers...

I laughed out loud when I saw this: Coach Sam Vincent said he is leaning toward using the current starting lineup — Raymond Felton, Matt Carroll, Jason Richardson, Emeka Okafor and Nazr Mohammed — the rest of the season. Makes sense: Of the 16 starting combinations the team has used this season, that group is the only [...]

It looks like I struck a chord with this post about imagining Charlotte's Raymond Felton as the point guard of the Blazers' future. Aside from your many comments on both sides of the issue, I got this email from Wendell Maxey over at HoopsWorld. Felton is always going to be compared to guys like Deron Williams and Chris Paul because he was picked right after them in 2005. That argument doesn't hold...
