OK, Mr. or Ms. NBA general manager: Whom would you like on your squad Adam Morrison, Shelden Williams or Brandon Roy? Those were the options facing Charlotte in the 2006 draft, and the Bobcats took Morrison. Roy is on the way to being special, whereas Morrison and Williams have proven nothing.

Much of our attention has been focused on point guards, but we all know this roster desperately needs more youth up front to complement Spencer Hawes and Shelden Williams. With that in mind, local coach/trainer Brian McCormick discusses Cal product Ryan Anderson , a fellow fully expected to be on the board at pick #12 and possibly in the 30s (via TrueHoop ). If Anderson was from Serbia, he would be...

The Los Angeles Lakers began the season in chaos 5 1/2 months ago. They finished it as the Western Conference champions. The Lakers' Pau Gasol blocks a layup by the Kings' Shelden Williams during the first quarter.

Great offensive night, and I'm willing to overlook the rest. Mikki Moore is the team's best post defender (a problem to begin with), and he played 23 minutes due to foul trouble. When Spencer Hawes and Shelden Williams are your big minutes bigs, 140 points is about right. No offense to either guy; they just cannot defend that well straight up at this point. Speaking of Hawes, his legs look dead. Many...

OAKLAND Reggie Theus and Spencer Hawes walked off the Oracle Arena floor, through the nearby tunnel and headed for the locker room. Monta Ellis throws a no-look pass and fakes out the Kings' Shelden Williams. The Warriors won 140-132.

The latest tete-a-tete in Kingsland comes from Joe Maloof, who went to the media to insist youngsters Quincy Douby and Shelden Williams get more minutes down the stretch. Reggie Theus pushed back with this quote in The Bee : "I want those guys to play, but ... it's very hard as a first-year coach - when I'm judged on a lot of different levels - it's very hard to put guys in a game that's going well...

Slow day in Kingsland. KJ's getting smeared, Martin's ensuring his place in the Debate Club with smart Shelden Williams and noble Spencer Hawes, and Artest's coming back from the dead. Oh, and the Lakers attempt to suck some more soul from our lifeless bodies. Game's at 6:30 p.m. Big one between the Spurs and Sun at 12:30. Good day for basketball. Go Kings.

This photograph is as attractive as a double-OT game against a last place team without your two top scorers. Which is to say not attractive at all. Spencer Hawes = b-b-b-beast. Twenty minutes gets you 10 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Shelden Williams was alright; I'm excited he managed to sneak a block in there in his 21 minutes. He's got numerous blocks this year, which encourages me. How does...

Hello, Shelden Williams. Pleased to meet you. The one player of note featured in the Mike Bibby trade besides, um, Mike Bibby is Shelden Williams. He was picked #5 overall just two years ago, and quickly becomes the third (but highest) 2006 lottery pick given up on. (New Orleans traded #15 pick Cedric Simmons for cap space this summer; Golden State declined the third year on #9 pick Patrick O'Bryant...
