I just took a look at a new blog entry by Chamique Holdsclaw . If these are her words, Holdsclaw can definitely write. It also looks like Armintie Price is starting a mini-blog on the Atlanta Dream web site. Price is off to a good start, mentioning the fact that she is working as an assistant coach for Mississippi during the off-season. A few athletes have blogs at the WNBA site itself. The blogs are...

Filed under: Basketball , Women's Sports Last month, former Atlanta Dream center Chantelle Anderson announced through her blog that she was retiring from basketball at age 28. She was released by the Atlanta Dream in May and was unable to find another gig within the league. So what is she going to do with all that spare time? Write an autobiography, of course. Anderson is an avid blogger and recently...

Pro basketball player Chantelle Anderson has her own blog over at Yardbarker.com, and lest you think it’s boring, you haven’t read her last post. Anderson, a former 2nd-overall WNBA draft pick and college superstar, recently told readers she’s planning on writing a book, and to my delight, she included some choice excerpts - which included her [...]

Chantelle Anderson retires at age 28 . She left on her own terms, and not too many people in this world can say that. We've not heard the end of Chantelle Anderson. Far from it. Pleasant Dreams sends the best of wishes and the best of good fortune.

CHENNAI (23rd FIBA Asia Women Championship) - Naturalization of women players in Asia is not common. American Chantelle Anderson – naturalized by Lebanon a couple of weeks ago – belongs to that rare group. The 28-year-old justified her induction in style, using her 199-cm presence to leave a tall – literally – impression on ...

Quite a while ago, I went to an Atlanta Braves game. One of the interesting between-innings activities was an interview with one of the ushers. He was an old man, and his schtick was that if you named any number between 1 and 100, he could tie that number into Atlanta Braves history. #14? The Braves won their first championship in Boston in 1914. #35? That was Phil Niekro's number, one of the numbers...

Former Dream player Chantelle Anderson might have never played a minute for the Dream - but she's going to Lebanon to play there. Her newest Yardbarker post tells the story. But I’m here playing basketball for the Lebanese National Team for the next three months. No, I’m not Lebanese by birth but somehow it’s legal so Ima go with it, haha. It’s nice to be back on the court and...

I believe it was Chantelle Anderson who wrote that trades were the hardest part of the sports business - you can give your heart and soul to a team and its community, but in the end, you're just a commodity to be bought, or sold, or tossed to the side. Two WNBA players have learned that lesson today: Tamera Young, and Armintie Price. Young was a first round draft pick in 2008 out of James Madison University....

Rumor mill time: coaches say no more cuts till Monday, but Chantelle Anderson's blog and Twitter feed indicate that she's already been cut from the Dream. (I remember her as playing well, pre-injury, for the 2005-06 Silver Stars.) Weirder rumor time: both the W and the NBA apparently plan some sort of major announcement on Monday, to be made in NYC, regarding the Mercury. David Stern (as well as Donna...

As we noted previously, Chantelle Anderson's been bloggin' and talkin' Pat Griffin over at It Takes a Team also has noticed: Chantelle, whether she intends to or not, is expanding the conversations about sexism and homophobia in sport to include some folks who probably are not visiting my blog or some of the other excellent blogs that also address these topics, like After Atalanta or the Title IX Blog...

This is from last week, but I just came across this podcast interview with Chantelle Anderson. Megan Heuter of the Because I Played Sports blog talked to Chantelle about her interesting blog on Yard Barker and using Twitter. Pat Griffin has also enjoyed reading the posts from Chantelle and has great commentary in her post, " When Athletes Speak, Fans Will Listen...And Talk Back ."
