In the Shock's 64-55 win over the New York Liberty, reserve forward Plenette Pierson posted up defenders, drove hard to the basket, took midrange jumpers, drew fouls and pulled down rebounds -- basically, everything she normally does. But it wasn't easy.

Shock assistant coach Rick Mahorn and 10 players received suspensions Thursday for their roles in Tuesday's skirmish at the Palace between the Shock and the Los Angeles Sparks. Mahorn (two games) and Shock forward Plenette Pierson (four) got the worst of it. The WNBA considered Pierson the main instigator.

And now, the aftermath of Tuesday night's fight between the Shock and Los Angeles Sparks. Shock forward Cheryl Ford, who appeared to be injured while trying to restrain teammate Plenette Pierson during the confrontation, is out for the season because of an anterior cruciate ligament tear in her right knee.
