The San Antonio Silver Stars have signed Ruth Riley to a two-year deal, Head Coach and General Manager Dan Hughes announced today. Per team policy, terms of the contract have not been released.

The Shock blew this one, losing, 71-68, to San Antonio at the Palace for its second-straight loss. The game marked the return of fan favorite Ruth Riley, who helped Detroit to both of its league titles and was the 2003 WNBA Finals MVP. But a foot injury kept Riley inactive for the game.

It was only a matter of time before Ruth Riley was traded. On Thursday, the Shock moved the inconsistent 6-foot-5 center, sending her to the San Antonio Silver Stars for 6-8 center Katie Feenstra, who's from Grand Rapids. Reached by phone Thursday, Riley -- who is playing in Poland -- said leaving the team she won two league titles with was bittersweet.
