Seattle suffered another blow when forward Katie Gearlds injured her right knee during Tuesday's overtime loss to Phoenix. Gearlds, a reserve, was driving baseline and slipped to her knees. She managed to pass the ball off to a teammate, but suffered an injury. Gearlds will not travel with the team to Los Angeles this afternoon, hobbling out of the training facility with a black brace on the knee....

GOING WRIGHT: With Jackson bogged down, Wright has embodied her offensive prowess. The former Penn State star has 21 points at the break, which ties the season high she set June 6 against Sacramento. Wright is 7 of 11 from the field. But Seattle hasn't slowed Phoenix enough, trailing 45-43 at halftime. Taurasi leads the Mercury with 11 points and Johnson added eight. Seattle is solid on rebounding...

Believe it or not, the league prints an official pronunciation guide for the media that looks like it is updated throughout the season. Pondexter is not on the list, but there is no ‘i’ in her...

MVP Candace Parker tweets she's back at practice. Minnesota is rebounding from losing star/leader Seimone Augustus, but what's the most popular question here? Whether stars Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson were benched on Sunday. Oh, and one call for Storm coach Brian Agler's head. Won't touch on the latter, that's just ridiculous after one loss. Not even if that loss was by 27-points. It was one game...

The return of Janell Burse is one key reason the Storm enters 2009 with great post depth. Adding Ashley Walker and Suzy Batkovic-Brown gives the Storm six quality post players.
