Filed under: Iowa , Big Ten , Coaches Dr. Tom Davis got fired from the University of Iowa for not winning enough games in the NCAA tournament. Now, almost a decade after his firing, the university has apparently had a change of heart . No, they're not dumping Todd Lickliter and bringing back the Doc. WHO TV/13 Sports Chris Hassel makes the blog, again , because of something stupid he said last night. During his 6:20p.m. anchor duties he did a story on the death of Iowa basketball player Jake Kelly's mother, Julia . Hassel was giving Coach Todd Lickliter's reaction when he asked, " Do we have the mug? " of the coach. Seconds later the Coach's face and words appeared onscreen. I'm not sure if he...

And, well, yes, because he dumped the Hawkeye Challenge, the Hawkeye Invitational, the Amana-Hawkeye Classic or whatever the hell it was called . Iowa has announced...

Joel Cornette, a standout basketball player throughout his career at Butler University, has joined Iowa's coaching staff as an assistant. “Joel is a proven winner. He is driven to succeed and he brings a winning attitude to all areas of his job,” said coach Todd Lickliter. “He is a skilled teacher who embraces what I want taught and how I want it taught -- much the same as Chad [Walthall] and LaVall...

Stevens replaces Todd Lickliter who was hired by Iowa to replace Hoosier legend Steve Alford (no IU fans, he’s still not going to coach IU). The 30 year old Stevens takes over a team that has been to the [...]
