Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz bedeviled the MU defense early, hitting his first seven passes. However, back-to-back sacks at the end of the first quarter and Brock Christopher's 17-yard touchdown return with an interception with just under three minutes in the second quarter dulled even that Nebraska bright spot.

Tim Barnes and Jaron Baston are, anecdotally at least, inseparable. Barnes — Missouri’s 305-pound sophomore center — won the award for most improved offensive lineman in spring football. Baston — a 300-pound junior nose guard — won the honor for most improved defensive lineman in the spring.
