OK y'all... predictions time? The standard favorites include Gallopin' Gert Steegmans, Alessandro Petacchi, Alexandre Usov, Allan Davis, Danilo Napolitano (who has some past placings here), and the usual suspects like Jens!, Valverde, multiple-winner Erik Zabel, Pippo, and my favorite upset special Fabian Cancellara. This is a perfect race for a late-stage attack by a guy who can solo away, right?

The DeutschlandTour kicks off with a long, flat romp , 183 km around Saarbrücken. The last hill is about 50km from the finish, so it will be all set up for the bunch sprint. The D-Tour features a pretty good list of fast men, all of whom will want to be on display at the end today: Danilo Napolitano, Robert Forster, JJ Haedo, Gerald Ciolek, Grischa Nierman, Olaf Pollack, and of course Erik Zabel. I'll...

A list of those who have disappeared from the Tour, and why: Michael Rogers: While speculation the last 24 hours centered on his wrist and knee, he in fact sustained a dislocated shoulder from his meeting with a Cormet de Roseland guard rail. Stuart O'Grady: He too crashed, and badly: he's up to nine broken ribs now, along with a collapsed lung and a dislocated shoulder. Robbie McEwen, Danilo Napolitano,...

Back after the Break on a pleasant Friday night at Citizens Bank Park where the joint is stuffed to the gills with folks either looking for a night out, a chance to watch the hometown team reach an unprecedented milestone, or to see it make a second-half surge… Or maybe all three – who really knows? Anyway, last year at the All-Star Break the Phillies were 40-47 and getting set to deal away Bobby...

Tom Boonen's reputation was suffering in this year's Tour, as he finished second to his leadout man Gert Steegmans in Stage 2, and couldn't quite close the deal in the other field sprints. With Thor Hushovd and Robbie McEwen nursing injuries, today was the last opportunity for Boonen to take a stage win until Wednesday's Stage 10. In an all-hands sprint into Bourg-en-Bresse, Boonen outkicked Rabobank's...

Thor Hushovd took his 1st victory of the season on Stage 4 of the Toru de France today. Hushovd's teammate Julian Dean provided an incredible leadout to put Hushovd in perfect position to outlast a charging Robbie Hunter at the line. It was Hushovd's 5th career stage win, at the end of a chaotic sprint, that followed a day-long breakaway by 5 men: Sylvain Chavanel of Cofidis, Juan Antonio Flecha of...
