Brandon's Chris Colwill, a graduate of Tampa Preparatory School and the University of Georgia, finished eighth in today's finals of the 3-meter springboard diving at the FINA World Championships in Rome.

Brandon's Chris Colwill decided to leave it all in the pool of the Olympic men's 3-meter diving finals Tuesday night in Beijing. He did that by performing a list of six dives that, when combined, was the highest degree of difficulty in the competition.

Troy Dumais won the 3-meter springboard title at the U.S. national diving championships Sunday. Kristian Ipsen finished second. Chris Colwill and Jevon Tarantino won their third synchronized 3-meter title. Kaylea Arnett and Michelle Cabassol, two 15-year-olds from Texas, won the 10-meter synchronized platform.
