Our second guess returns after a couple months worth of observations and beats out training camp, which will give us a much clearer idea of how this is going to shake out. The quarterback rankings for the next edition of the Madden video game franchise, Madden ‘09, have been revealed. Suffice it to say, the people who decide these things do not care much for Tarvaris Jackson. Yes, Tarvaris got an overall 78 - just two ticks above Atlanta’s Chris Redman who is ranked dead-last in the [...]

Because I love making you guys do all the work, I'm starting a new series of statistical projections for each position on the roster. Do you think Matt Ryan will throw for 6,000 yards and pull down a solid platinum MVP award? Will Chris Redman carry the day? Will all four quarterbacks of consequence on the roster get a shot to play this year? Make your thoughts known by listing stats for each player...

Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.com suggests the Falcons should start Joey Harrington or Chris Redman at quarterback in the season opener against the Detroit Lions and not rookie Matt Ryan, their top draft pick out of Boston College. A portion of his column:

Update from Maske: Not too many surprises in the top five. The Rams went for Chris Long second and the Falcons took Matt Ryan third. They won't have to go into next season with Joey Harrington and Chris Redman as their main options at quarterback. The Raiders got Arkansas tailback Darren McFadden fourth, leaving LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey for the Chiefs fifth. The only mild surprise, to me,...

Filed under: Falcons , NFL Draft , NFL Rumors With Jake Long officially of the board, the Rams are now on the clock, which I guess, in a mixed-metaphor sorta way, puts the Falcons in the hole Atlanta has all kinds of needs, from offensive line, to defensive line to cornerback to quarterback. But it's that last one that apparently ain't happening. At least according to Hashmarks' Matt Mosley : Here's...

2008 Atlanta Falcons Team Needs Quarterback: Atlanta has the task of trying to find a replacement for Michael Vick. Vick is locked up, and he will likely never put on a Falcons jersey again. Chris Redman and D.J. Shockley are not exactly long term answers. Consequently, the Falcons will likely select a quarterback early in day one of [...]

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Think playing quarterback is tough? Try selling insurance. 'I thought the NFL was a cutthroat business,' Chris Redman joked Wednesday, coming off the field after a two-hour practice with the Atlanta Falcons. 'Let me tell you, the insurance business is just as cutthroat.'

This is because Smith and co. are deciding whether or not to draft Matt Ryan at number three, who’ll certainly be available. If Redman looks [...]

Atlanta - With a new coach and new GM, the Falcons are looking to remake the team. As well they should! QBs Byron Leftwich and Joey Harrington were cut and QB Chris Redman left as a free agent. The Falcons then resigned Harrington and Redman to short-term deals. Ugh. The Falcons signed the biggest free agent RB of the year, San Diego's Michael Turner and with Turner signed, RB Warrick Dunn was cut....

Quarterback Joey Harrington has returned to the Atlanta Falcons. He agreed to a two-year contract with the team Tuesday after being released last week. The new deal gives the Falcons additional salary cap room and throws Harrington back into a quarterback mix that also includes Chris Redman and D.J.
