As the Miami Dolphins open their training camp, Vice President Bill Parcells (right) is depending on a crew of veterans, such as 11-year vet Jason Ferguson, to renovate and rebuild the team. The Miami Dolphins acquired defensive tackle Jason Ferguson from Dallas in a trade, and signed free-agent tight end Sean Ryan, who was drafted by then-Cowboys coach Bill Parcells in 2004.

After starting to rebuild the offensive line Friday morning by reaching an agreement with 49ers guard Justin Smiley, the Dolphins began work on the defense by acquiring veteran defensive tackle Jason Ferguson from the Cowboys and Giants linebacker Reggie Torbor, according to a source.

You guys reported it in the comments, Jason Ferguson is out for the season with a torn bicep muscle. That hurts. Having him and Jay Ratliff in the rotation was going to be a sweet deal. The good news, we have Jay Ratliff, but we need to get him help. Remi Ayodele was cut from the Falcons so he’s an obvious option. Or the Cowboys could get creative in thinking long-term and see if they come up with...
