NEW YORK — Over the past decade, Oklahoma has rarely been out of the AP Top 25 and Stanford has rarely been in. On Sunday, the Sooners and Cardinal sort of swapped places. Oklahoma dropped out of the college football poll for the first time since 2005, and No. 25 Stanford moved into the rankings for the first time since 2001. The first six spots were held by major college football's six unbeaten...

Ouch . Stanford, no matter how badly they're doing, nor how good the Ducks are, has a knack for spoiling things for Oregon. Back in 2001, they handed the Ducks their only loss and knocked them out of the BCS championship game. Today they ended Oregon's winning streak,, and made it very possible for Oregon to gewt knocked out of the Rose Bowl. The Ducks hung tought, but just couldn't catch up after...

Remember when New Year's Day was filled with awesome games like the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Citrus (Capital One) Bowl and Cotton Bowl. Those pit good teams from good conferences who play in front of fans who are hung over but certainly like good teams from good conferences playing each other. But the new Dallas Football Classic seems to have little regard for New Year's Day tradition. Dallas city leaders...

The Ducks and Wildcats control their Rose Bowl fates, though history has not been kind to either. It might seem like a new day in Pacific 10 Conference football but we're still a long way from judgment day.
