GREEN BAY, Wis. – Aaron Kampman says the Green Bay training staff won't need to keep a sharp eye on him when he returns to the field for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. If he learned anything after playing through a concussion, it's that a cautious approach is the best one to head injuries. "The great thing about the medical staff here is they're always going to err on the

Wishing you were here doesn't quite cut it in the National Football League. Paying tribute to comrades Aaron Kampman and Al Harris the best way possible, their replacements played well enough Thursday so the injured veterans weren't noticeably missed as the Green Bay Packers thumped the Detroit Lions, 34-12, at Ford Field.

The Packers are without cornerback Al Harris and linebacker Aaron Kampman , both were hurt on their last game against San Francisco . Without two of their veteran players, the Packers struggled to hold against the 49ers, allowing 21 points in the second half. Fortunately, the Green Bay defense will be

The Lions would love to establish the run, eat up the clock and keep Green Bay's offense off the field. But Green Bay ranks third in the NFL in total defense and fourth against the run. Even without linebacker Aaron Kampman, out with a knee injury, the Packers are formidable.

The Packers have lost both Al Harris and Aaron Kampman for the season because of knee injuries. Eric Mangini and Jim Schwartz talked after Mangini implied that the Lions faked injuries on Sunday and the two "cleared the air." It apparently dawned on Mangini that he was simply deflecting blame by making those accusations, and he took some responsibility for the loss during today's press conference....
