The 49ers RT: Niners Nation looking into the Future

Quick Note: I wrote this article prior to this past weekend's heart breaking loss to the Titans. The fact that we are 3-5 doesn't mean we should give up on the season, and focus on the offseason, I just wanted to get some names out there that we can track through out the remainder of the season. Things can't get much worse (at RT) in Ninerland with Tony Pashos being out for the season. While Pashos...

49ers-Colts Final Injury Report

We've got the final injury report for the week, but there remain a lot of question marks. The Colts have listed Dwight Freeney and Reggie Wayne as Questionable, which means there's a 50-50 chance they'll play. I'd imagine most folks are anticipating they'll play, because the "Questionable" designation is more or less a joke in the NFL. Both Freeney and Wayne were full participants in practice...

Twitter mania: 49ers, Michael Lewis, Tarell Brown, Brandon Jones

Fooch's Update 2:10pm - Adam Schefter is usually on the money, but just to make it official, the 49ers sent out their press release announcing the Tarell Brown contract extension. I couldn't really think of a catchy title for this, so I just went for something simple. Twitter has provided us a potpourri of information for your discussion pleasure. Tarell Brown The 49ers haven't sent out the official...

49ers lose starting RT Pashos for season

The San Francisco 49ers took a big blow to their already struggling offensive line Tuesday, losing right tackle Tony Pashos for the season with a broken left shoulder blade. The 49ers placed Pashos on injured reserve a day after he had an MRI exam on the shoulder. The veteran offensive lineman was hurt during Sunday's 24-21 loss at Houston, his first start at right tackle in place of Adam Snyder.

Texans 21 - 49ers 0: Over/Under on 49ers points, maybe 3?

@ And so here we are, entering the second half of a game that has had virtually nothing to get excited about. Sure Michael Crabtree has a couple catches, but other than that it's been all Texans . The 49ers defense was looking decent early, but they've gone in the tank thanks to their own struggles and the fact that the offense couldn't move the ball if their life depended on it. The offensive line...

49ers shuffling offensive line

Josh Morgan #84 and Shaun Hill #13 of the San Francisco 49ers celebrate after Morgan caught a touchdown pass The San Francisco 49ers are trading places again along their offensive line, and even quarterback Shaun Hill admits that could be a good thing as the team emerges from its bye week. Hill got banged around a bit too often, and San Francisco's power rushing attack never really got untracked in...

Texans Five on Five: Week 7

More photos » by David J. Phillip - AP Browse more photos » This week's contest against the San Francisco 49ers will have huge implications for the 3-3 Houston Texans . If they win and establish the first streak (winning or losing) of the season, the Texans will be in the driver seat heading into the Buffalo and then a string of four pivotal division games. If they lose, then the chances...

Golden Nuggets: Was pretty fast..

Morning, morning. If we weren't through our bye week yesterday, we certainly are today. Finally, I assume we can get back to having a good number of links. The last two or three days have been the first times all season (I think) in which I didn't get to make the jump. I think I even repeated one or two articles. Now we can officially look ahead and begin previewing the upcoming game against the Texans....

Adam Snyder loses RT job

Adam Snyder loses RT job Tony Pashos will move to RT and Snyder will alternate with Rachal at RG. Sounds like a great move to me. They don't have to bring in Wragge and can put Snyder in his more natural G position.

Singletary assesses O-line

In talking about the play of his offensive line a day after the 49ers routed the Rams 35-0, coach Mike Singletary praised center Eric Heitmann, said left tackle Joe Staley is maturing and getting better, and alternating right tackles Adam Snyder and Tony...

49ers-Rams Thursday Injury Report

The 49ers injury situation has cleared up quite a bit in the last 24 hours. Really it's the last few hours since we've had some players who, as expected, practiced after sitting out yesterday. It sounds like the limited guys (Baas, Staley, Ulbrich) will probably play this week. Other than that, there's nothing out of the ordinary in this report, as far as I can tell. The Rams practice report is identical...

O-Line Notes: 49ers Can Run, But Struggle to Pass Block

by JJ Cooper Filed under: 49ers , Jaguars , Vikings , NFL Analysis Every week we're logging each and every sack to determine who was to blame, how long it took for the sack to happen and how the sack happened. Here are the notes pulled from watching Week Two's sacks. It's worth throwing in a disclaimer. It's not always easy to determine who was responsible for a sack, especially if there is a line...

A Rant about Brian Billick, NFL Analyst

Michael Singletary morning-after press conference: Focusing on Snyder and Pashos

Mike Singletary conducted a lunch-time press conference today and had plenty to discuss coming off of yesterday's big win. He addressed the tampering issue and more or less acknowledged the issue was before the NFL at this point. He addressed Frank Gore 's performance yesterday. He addressed the team's overall performance. It was all encompassing but I only wanted to pull out a few points. The entire...
