4th of July weekend could be the dead period in the NFL. It has been forever since minicamp, and it will feel like an eternity until training camp starts (about a month!). That's why almost every blog is making little gimmicks just to put something out. I will say that I am liking what 18to88 is doing. I am a Reds fan and it is hard to find baseball blogs I enjoy, and 18to88 is the right level of fandom...

via allproscouts.com View full size photo uploaded June 28, 2009 I have to admit, during the football void that is the time between OTAs and training camp, many of us bloggers are trying to fill that void with whatever we can get our hands on. The fire hose we normally see from mainstream media sources slows to a trickle, so we're left with All-Decade junk from ESPN or fighting about running backs...

Is Jason Garrett overrated? Not bloody likely, but Dan Parr at Pro Football Weekly writes that Garrett is the most overrated offensive coordinator in the NFL. Overrated: Cowboys' Jason Garrett Thanks to an intriguing pedigree that fit what NFL owners were looking for in the next hot, young head-coaching candidate and his management of Dallas’ high-powered offense, the hype around Garrett skyrocketed...

I haven't done a roster prediction in a while, and there is no better time than after minicamp. This will be tough, especially for the D-line. It is in order by depth chart as always and I'm including numbers too. There will be a lot of changes because of rookies and signings. This team won't be too similar to the team last year, but it will be much better. The defensive tackles are so deep, and there...

While Adam Vinatieri is on the mend from hip surgery, the Colts have quietly brought in former-Cowboys kicker Billy Cundiff for a tryout . Cundiff, who wasn’t immediately available for comment, is currently an NFL free agent and isn’t quite ready to hang up his helmet. He auditioned for the Cleveland Browns two weeks ago and is trying out today for the Colts with hopes of securing a spot...

Last year around this time, we were greeted with the news that Peyton Manning needed knee surgery . The surgery, and the recovery time after wards, hurt Indy's chances to win games early in the 2008 season. The Colts started 4-4. When Manning got better, they finished 8-0. This year, it seems the surprise injury of the off-season award goes to Adam Vinatieri . Adam had hip surgery today , performed...
