The San Francisco 49ers have announced that linebacker Ahmad Brooks has been released. Brooks was originally selected by the Bengals in the third round of the 2006 supplemental draft. But the Bengals gave up on him after only two seasons, cutting him after 2008 training camp.

On Friday, Ahmad Brooks' attorney took an agreed (and signed by both parties) mediation deal. A mediation is a form of "assisted communication for agreement". The case will be reviewed in September . In essence, it appears that the woman's statement was true. Since the agreement was made, there won't be any additional criminal action other than a review to make sure he's playing nice with neighbors....
