John McClain of the Houston Chronicle was nice enough to answer a couple of questions I sent him yesterday about the Texans run defense and how they plan to stop Chris Johnson: MCM: The Texans defense has been really good against the run in the last month. What changes have they made? JM: They allowed 205 (average) yards rushing in the first three games and 60.5 in the last six. The turnaround happened...

The Texans are slightly more than halfway through with the 2009 (regular) season, so let's take inventory of what we've seen. Through nine games, who has been the most outstanding defensive player for your Houston Texans ? Note that I said "most outstanding" as opposed to "most valuable." In other words, who's been the absolute best on that side of the ball so far? Vote in the poll...

More photos » by Darron Cummings - AP Browse more photos » The Indianapolis Colts pushed their series record against the Houston Texans to 14-1 on Sunday. As that record indicates, the Colts have regularly dismembered the eight year old franchise en route to multiple AFC South championships. Even though the result was the same, this didn't feel like the normal Colts vs. Texans matchup....

View full size photo uploaded November 2, 2009 As Tim alluded to in his postgame writeup , the defense came to play last Sunday. Matt Schaub and Steve Slaton owe the defensive squad a few baskets of muffins for giving up only 7 points on three first quarter turnovers. While the Ryan Fitzpatrick -led Bills are not exactly an offensive juggernaut, allowing zero second half points is impressive against...

In week three I started a new segment breaking down position group by position group, determining which team had the "edge" to their respective groups. I could'nt have been more wrong, predicting that the Cardinals had the edge against the Colts . Although, nobody could have determined that they'd implode the way that they did, either way I was wrong. This week we break down who has the edge...

The offense has looked better this season. The defense most definitely hadn't. Qualify the victory however you want, but give me those qualifications every day of the week over the suicide watch that would have surely accompanied a loss. 2-2 is exponentially better than 1-3, so we should probably keep a positive outlook. Quick thoughts on the game: 1. I'm going to lead with Brian Cushing because he...
