In this newspaper a few days ago, there was a picture at the top of the front page of some type of wagon being pulled by a team of mules.

We thought a little late-afternoon linkage was in order. The new Transformers movie is getting destroyed by critics , and it seems for good reason. Apparently, some of the robots in the film are presented as racial stereotypes. That's unfortunate. I guess if you have kids, ignore this thing. Take them to "Up!" While Pierre Garcon has the edge when it comes to locking down the #3 WR spot,...

Tomorrow marks the 35th anniversary of the first time a laser scanner was used to "read" a bar code, according to Motorola Inc. The company has a few of the pertinent facts from that day, including that the first scan occurred at 8:06 a.m., June 26, 1974, at a Marsh supermarket in Troy, Ohio. The bar code was imprinted on a 10-pack of Wrigley's Juicy Fruit gum. There were bar code patent...

via www2.pictures.gi.zimbio.com Exactly three weeks ago today, reports surfaced that the Kansas City Chiefs were bringing in former Chicago Bears safety Mike Brown for a visit. That day I asked one of my good friends and Chicago native to let me know what's up with Brown and what he can do for the Chiefs. Here's what he had to say: Yeah I think hes really good, unfortunately just keeps getting injured....

After watching their defense fritter away too many leads last season, the Green Bay Packers are knee-deep in a major transition. Gone are former defensive coordinator Bob Sanders and most of his staff, along with the team's long-standing 4-3 defensive alignment. With new defensive coordinator Dom Capers come new coaches - and, most significantly, a new 3-4 scheme. It's a major change for Packers defensive...

Michael Griffin > Bob Sanders (for the AFC's Ultimate Building Blocks) Over at ESPN, Paul Kuharsky ranked the "Ultimate Building Blocks" in the AFC South, and he picked Grif over Indy stalwart Bob Sanders. From the post: "Go ahead, kill me on Bob Sanders. Sanders is a great player, but as the scouting bromide goes, the best ability is availability. Based on his injury history I can't...

Off-season Training Activities (aka OTAs) for the Colts end today. Between now and August 1st, players have a chance to get away from football before the grind starts. The conclusion of mini-camp this past weekend, and OTAs today, provides us with some solid information on how the Colts view their roster and their coaches going into July and August. Put simply, they are very pleased: Jim Caldwell is...

I love Bob Sanders , as you could probably guess by my avatar, hometown and college, but that doesn't mean that looking into the implications his contract has for his long term future with the team is too painful for me. Bob has played 45 regular season games in his career, he's missed 35 regular season games due to injury (though the only postseason game, of 11, he's ever missed is the 2007 Pro Bowl)....

I haven't done a roster prediction in a while, and there is no better time than after minicamp. This will be tough, especially for the D-line. It is in order by depth chart as always and I'm including numbers too. There will be a lot of changes because of rookies and signings. This team won't be too similar to the team last year, but it will be much better. The defensive tackles are so deep, and there...

by Matt Snyder Filed under: Colts , AFC South Though many of the players from the perennially playoff-bound Indianapolis Colts are still around, it's a new era in Colts camp these days. The turnover on the coaching staff has been vast, especially for a team who has seemingly gone 12-4 in their sleep for all of recent memory -- and it goes all the way to the top. With a new head coach and two new coordinators,...

The Indianapolis Star reports Colts DB Bob Sanders isn't doing any on-field work with his teammates while he continues to recover from the physical demands of the 2008 season. "I feel good," Sanders said. "Basically that's all I'm going to say. My soul is good and I'm in good spirits. I'm doing all right." Sanders has missed 35 of a possible 80 regular-season games because of injury...

I'm sure that you were all shocked to learn that man who brought you the Twitter update " Wow Slumdog Millionaire got 8 Oscars! #slumdog #oscars " wasn't actually Peyton Manning . As of yet, there's no Colts currently on the Twitter bandwagon, which is probably a good thing, since entire blog posts would be dedicated to each tweet as they came in with a fanbase as passionate as this one....

BBS' post on blitzing from the Tampa-2 and a comment from tim55 got me wondering on who was the last Indy linebacker to have success rushing the passer. It's no exaggeration to say that the Colts don't use their back 7 for pressure. In the 7 years under Dungy only 4 non-linemen have recorded multiple sacks in a season (two did it twice), only one of those 6 seasons totaled over 4 sacks. Player Year...
