In a recent obituary on the Jonnyvoid website Paul Sieveking ex-founder of the Fortean Times weirdo magazine has expressed a few lines that need to be expanded upon, since his omissions border on censorship - or in his case it is probably sour grapes or even amnesia. Firstly the death of somebody is always sad [...]

Here, Paul Sieveking, founding editor of Fortean Times provides his thoughts on the life and times of Chris Gray: Chris Gray was a wonderfully adventurous rebel who inspired me and many others to oppose the grim uniformity of modern society and refuse to be mere spectators of its banal spectacle. He was delightful company, quick-witted [...]

(By David Perlmutt, dperlmutt@charlotteobserver.com) Chris Gray-Garcia was flying home to Washington D.C. this afternoon from a funeral in Denver, Colo. when he felt his America West Airlines flight suddenly jerk up and abort its landing at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. The Airbus A321 began to make a fresh approach to the runway, and seconds later its pilot explained over the intercom:...

Ten months ago I entitled a post Sign Mike Wahle. Two days later, Seattle signed Mike Wahle. There was much rejoicing. The move looked very solid. Wahle did not need to be a Pro Bowl guard to dramatically improve Seattle's offensive line. Moving Rob Sims from left to right and replacing Chris Gray improved two positions. That didn't happen. Wahle, Sims and Gray are now all out for the season. Gray...

What's up Cards fans. I'll be around the next two days to answer questions about Seattle. Just a primer: 1. We're still recovering from the loss of Chris Gray. 2. I think Shaun Alexander is due for a rebound. 3. Real men don't talk injuries. 4. Man up is an effective game plan. 5. I too am sick of Tim Ruskell's fascination with gigantism. Not covered in the above, fire away. Covered in the above,...

Before the season started, Football Outsiders projected Seattle to win 9.9 games. As a Seahawks analyst, I analyzed those things Football Outsiders' excellent system couldn't easily factor in: the weaknesses lost, like Shaun Alexander and Chris Gray, and the strength or their draft class, good. I was justifiably optimistic about this season. Five games in, I have no rational hope for this team. Something...
