Following the 2008 season, I posted the following ( Jan. 9, 2009 ): Richard Samuel is a key player the team needs to look at from a position move standpoint. Many coaches would look at a player who is big, strong, fast, relishes contact, was an elite high school linebacker, and who fumbles or bobbles the ball regularly and they would say...."That is a linebacker." If Samuel doesn't learn...

KRM commuter rail was the lead topic Tuesday during Mayor John Dickert's first meeting with the Young Professionals of Racine. Dickert met with 25 YPR members at the Radisson hotel. Here's some notes on the forum: * No surprise, Dickert came out strong in support of commuter rail and regional bus transit. He said he had no problem with government supporting trains and buses because it's government...

On Monday, the “Baby Hurricanes” won their second game of the Traverse City prospects tournament by defeating the host Red Wings prospects 5-3. Carolina is now 2-0 in the East bracket of the tourney and will conclude round robin play on Wednesday against Atlanta’s prospects. Mike Murphy was in nets again for the Canes. While never trailed on Sunday, they were down 2-0 in the second...

For all those who want to bag on Damion McIntosh, his move to the right side in 2008 helped to stablize what had been an unbelievably gaping hole in 2007. No, McIntosh is no All-Pro but the Chiefs were stronger running to his side last season than any other spot in the line, he committed far fewer penalties than the Chris Terry/Kyle Turley duo and was a more effective pass blocker. Chiefs unit review:...

The Plymouth Whalers, skating with a full lineup for the first time in two months, started a five-game home stand by stopping the Barrie Colts, 5-3. Ryan Hayes scored twice, with his second on a power play at 3:51 of the third standing as the winner. Tyler Seguin, Chris Terry and Kaine Geldart also scored. Terry, who scored his team-leading 20th goal, also had two assists.

So why has the pass protection improved? First, there’s better talent at three of the five positions. Branden Albert is an upgrade over Damion McIntosh at left tackle, and McIntosh is an upgrade over all the bodies that played right tackle in ‘07 ( Kyle Turley , Chris Terry and Will Svitek .) For the most part, Adrian Jones has been an upgrade over John Welbourn . Brian Waters has enjoyed...

from Neal Rubin of the Detroit News, Bobby Suvoy had Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and it was vicious. He’d been a boy who liked to swim and skate and catch fish, always looking for something to do. Now here he was at 16, paralyzed, with a breathing machine inflating his lungs. Chris Terry was Bobby’s idol, his favorite hockey player. The team arranged for Terry to meet him, and it was a...

If you haven’t heard the shocking it-was-only-a-matter-of-time news about Chris Terry, he’s been busted and suspended for drugs yet again. Considering Mike Solari depended on guys like Terry, John Welbourn and Kyle Turley to bolster his run-first offensive scheme, it’s no surprise that he’s now the Chiefs ex-offensive coordinator. His autopsy definitely has their names [...]...

GMNext "team member" (and AutoWeek employee) Chris Terry "reveals" what we've known since we hung out with Maximum Bob in a small, windowless room at The New York Auto Show : the Camaro is looking at a turbo-four. While the pony car faithful are still choking on their Cheerios, ADD-afflicted GM's echoing hybridcars.com 's claim that turbos could well be the "new hybrid."...
