More photos » by Jeff Roberson - AP Browse more photos » When the team (and as an extension the quarterback) struggle, the backup quarterback often is one of the most popular players on the team. It's obvious Marc Bulger and now Kyle Boller aren't regarded very highly around here anymore. So much so that people are clamoring for Keith Null to start. Might as well, we already know the jobs...

Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington will probably never be considered the next Dan Marino. It's sort of unfair, because Pennington did help take the Dolphins from worst to first last season. Pre-Chad, the Dolphins were 1-15 in 2007. Last season they were 11-5, won their division and ended a playoff drought that began in 2002. It wasn't as if Pennington followed Marino. The Ravens waived quarterback Cleo Lemon, putting the team at the NFL-mandated 75-man roster limit before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline. Lemon, who was signed by the Ravens on Aug. 16 as a precaution against a minor shoulder injury suffered by John Beck, did not get any snaps in any of Baltimore’s first three preseason contests.

Well it's great to be back in sweltering Westminster, Maryland, watching our Baltimore Ravens prepare for their second pre season contest as well as the 2009 regular season, and hopefully beyond! After a week in sunny Negril, Jamaica, the return to the typical dog days of summer here in Baltimore is a huge difference. The players are sweating and probably losing lots of weight out there, and the training...
