Just now watching the game. Jubelale by my side. Seattle ran a very nice looking blitz out of a 3-1-1-6 look. I notate it that way because the second level was Darryl Tapp and David Hawthorne . Both end up blitzing, but it seems obtuse to group a linebacker and defensive a lineman together. The first thing I like is the personnel on the defensive line. Lawrence Jackson is playing strongside defensive...

I would say "Bucs steal one from Ruskell", but Bennett was waived outright and bound to be given a shot by somebody . The Buccaneers are continuing to look for ways to upgrade their pass rush and claimed rookie defensive end Michael Bennett off waivers from Seattle on Monday. The 6-foot-3, 274-pound Bennett was waived on October 11 to make room for defensive tackle Kyle Williams after signing...

This was sent my way and agreed to post it. Since I am broached about charity events often, I think it's time to create a policy. So here goes: If you wish to endorse a charity event related to the Seahawks , please use the FanPost section . There is no need to email me or ask permission, charitable events are appropriate FanPost content. I hope that clears things up. I am totally down with anything...

This hole? Zombie-Curtis Enis could run through it. How does a running back rush for 80 yards on the first play of the half? How does a team fail to adjust when that same running back broke a 75 yard run in the first half? Seattle didn't really adjust. It was again eight in the box. Kelly Jennings was manning the right end, making Seattle borderline nine in the box. The starters, minus Lofa Tatupu...

More photos » by Elaine Thompson - AP Darryl Tapp does something cool ten times a game. In his coaches eyes, that can't overcome the two inches God didn't give him. Browse more photos » The first quarter ended quietly. Craig Terrill sacked Shaun Hill and forced San Francisco to start the second quarter punting. The Seahawks looked to be in it, and maybe if things had broken differently...

One Seahawk did his job, and Lawrence Jackson wasn't enough. Jackson was alone on the right, knocking back pulling left guard David Baas , chipping and disrupting fullback Moran Norris and narrowing Gore's hole to a sliver. The linebackers overpursued and were out of position. Colin Cole was miles in the backfield after completely misreading the play. Red Bryant pursued hard left and abandoned his...

The Crawl, the MASH unit following the team from city to city, are good distractions. Think long enough about the misfortunes of Seattle and the decisions of its fearless leader and you might forget the Seahawks were kicked around by the 49ers . There is no one player that undermined the Seahawks -- nix that, it was Colin Cole . And Red Bryant . So it was two. One overmatched. The other undisciplined....

More photos » by Jeff Roberson - AP Alex Barron has made a habit of watching on while his skill position players get hit, but he had no trouble containing Patrick Kerney. It was the rest of the Rams expensive offensive line that Seattle's front four excelled against. Walter Jones and Deion Branch practiced today, but Brandon Mebane , T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Lofa Tatupu did not. Game status has not been revealed. Seattle might be very banged up. It could be resting key players. The new coaching staff seems very protective of its talent, and it wouldn't surprise me if Houshmandzadeh and Mebane not practicing is a precautionary move. Nevertheless, Seattle absolutely...

1-10-STL 43 (10:15) 10-M.Bulger pass short right to 17-D.Avery to SL 44 for 1 yard (26-J.Wilson). How it worked: Patrick Kerney fakes outside rush and then drops into a zone. Colin Cole and Craig Terrill move forward and then hard right. Cory Redding edge rushes Jason Smith . Aaron Curry and Josh Wilson man-cover the left and right wide receiver, respectively. Ken Lucas , Jordan Babineaux and Deon...

More photos » by Ted S. Warren - AP Surgery and age may have sapped some of Patrick Kerney's ability, but he showed on this series smarts can contribute pass rush too. Seattle's defense came alive in the second half. Not in any one particular game, but throughout the preseason. Seattle's defense came alive when the starters sat. The standout performances of Nick Reed , Michael Bennett, Derek Walker and Will Herring contributed to that. The drop in talent of opposing offenses contributed. The scheme contributed made it happen. The defense went from vanilla to spumoni....
