D.J. Shockley, Atlanta Falcons: There may be worse fates for a QB than getting axed from a team’s practice squad when Chris Redman is its primary backup, but we sure can’t think of any of them. (Found by John at the Cowboys’ Stadium.)

What appeared earlier today to be breaking news soon seemed to be nothing more than baseless rumor, as reports that Logan Gray would be starting in place of an injured Joe Cox on Saturday were answered with unequivocal statements out of Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall. While I am not a journalist and I seldom even play one on the internet, I was able to reach out to someone I know inside the Georgia football...

I got together with the fine Georgia blogger Bulldog in Exile to preview this weekend's game. Please check out my answers to his questions here . 1. All eyes will be on Joe Cox this weekend after an underwhelming performance last week in Stillwater. How much was Cox affected by his illness? Will he bounce back against Carolina? When will Mark Richt play Aaron Murray or Logan Grey if Cox continues to...

Falcons Fill Up Practice Squad Lot of familiar names on here, including D.J. Shockley and rookie Vance Walker. The name not on here that stunned me? William Middleton, who must not have impressed to the degree I had thought he would during the off-season to not even get a spot on the practice squad.

According to profootballtalk.com: "Quarterback D.J. Shockley , the one-time Georgia star who's been with the Falcons since 2006, has been released by the team, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
