Obviously the subject of Mike Holmgren as Seattle GM continues to be brought up. I can't get away from it, from Steve Kelley to Ian Furness to several commenters on this site. So regardless of whether or not we'd all like it to be a dead issue, there is a feeling out there that he's the best fit to take us back to respectability. Well... let's actually take a real peek at his record as GM from 1999-2002....

"Jackson Has Sprained MCL" This is what I saw, when looking at news headlines on my cell phone last night. I don't have a fancy i-phone or a fast internet connection. It barely shows pictures most of the time. But I can read e-mail and keep up with scores. But every now and then, when dealing with mostly text, I'll come across something like this. Jackson has sprained MCL. So I had to decide...

Last time I used the relationship between Catch% and AirYards per Completion (yards per completion with yards after catch removed) to give an evaluation of WR hands over the last two seasons. Today with 8 years of data (as far back as I can find YAC info for) Catch% and AY/C remain correlated, allowing for 8 years of hands eval and an attempt at an overall WR ranking. Top 20 Catch% over expected Player...
When we last left the Football Outsiders playbook, the focus was on goal line deception. Today we look at the bunch formation , specifically from the 2007 Seahawks . The situation: first quarter, first-and-10 on the Seahawks 30-yard line, Cardinals leading 14-0. The Cardinals jumped to an early lead on a long touchdown pass and a Seahawks turnover. With Clancy Pendergast running the show for the Cardinals...
“You remember it well,” presumes the Seattle Times’ Jerry Brewer. “The sketchy pass-interference call on Darrell Jackson in the end zone? The iffy holding penalty on Sean Locklear? The inexplicable illegal-block call on Matt Hasselbeck when he was trying to make a tackle after throwing an interception'” Suffice to say the columnist and much of [...]
Interesting stuff from Ambinder: In the winter of 2007, the [Obama] campaign entered a bidding war with the Clinton campaign over the endorsement of State Senator Darrell Jackson, the pastor of one of the largest congregations in South Carolina. The...

Time's up, Darrell Jackson. Ready or not, the Broncos need Jackson's strained calf, which has sidelined him since the season-opening win at Oakland, to heal.
