More photos » by Jim Prisching - AP Browse more photos » For most of the game, the Packers dominated by holding the 49ers to under 300 yards of total offense, gaining almost 500 yards against a very good 49ers defense, and winning the time of possession battle by a 2 to 1 margin. So how did the 49ers managed to climb back into the game? While the pass defense was outstanding in the 1st...

I know all of us were a bit concerned by all the players on yesterday's injury report . However, as today's report shows, virtually all the "limited" and "non-participants" were full participants today. Yesterday's report was a projection because there was no actual practice, so I'm guessing the team was just being a bit more conservative. Of course, Glen Coffee is not going to...

The home team automatically gets 3 points. So I guess oddsmakers view the Falcons as just a touch better minus the home field....

We've got the final injury report for the week and the only big change is several probable players for the 49ers . Having seen the practice reports, and now seeing this lit, probable players really end up being no big deal. However, it sounds like with Marques Harris and Reggie Smith out, Curtis Taylor supposedly might be activated this week. It sounds like it would be primarily for special teams work,...

The 49ers remain a bit banged up this week. I remain convinced part of the reason Dave Baas is struggling is the continued injury issues. I realize he's been practicing a bit (or fully as in today) and playing each week, but it can't be easy to get into a sufficient rhythm to be a successful player. I'd love to hear other opinions, but Baas has definitely struggled and he has definitely been banged...

Defensive tackle Ray McDonald returns a fourth-quarter fumble 11 yards for the 49ers' final touchdown. St. Louis' blunders directly led to 21 49ers points. SAN FRANCISCO -- The 49ers pitched their first shutout since 2002 on Sunday, but no one was waving towels or popping champagne corks. Sure, the final score was 35-0, but even inside the 49ers' locker room, there was the sense that perhaps that...

The 49ers injury situation has cleared up quite a bit in the last 24 hours. Really it's the last few hours since we've had some players who, as expected, practiced after sitting out yesterday. It sounds like the limited guys (Baas, Staley, Ulbrich) will probably play this week. Other than that, there's nothing out of the ordinary in this report, as far as I can tell. The Rams practice report is identical...

More photos » by Jim Mone - AP Browse more photos » Maiocco and Barrows have posted injury reports, so I thought I'd pass along some of that information and look ahead to what means next week and beyond. After two relatively injury-free games to start the season, the 49ers leave Minnesota a little more banged-up up than before. The big injury was to Frank Gore . As Persiflage stated in...

This hole? Zombie-Curtis Enis could run through it. How does a running back rush for 80 yards on the first play of the half? How does a team fail to adjust when that same running back broke a 75 yard run in the first half? Seattle didn't really adjust. It was again eight in the box. Kelly Jennings was manning the right end, making Seattle borderline nine in the box. The starters, minus Lofa Tatupu...

The final injury report for the week was just sent out and there are a couple interesting additions to it. Vikings WR Percy Harvin has been dealing with some sort of illness and has missed practice the last couple days. While it's true that rookie receivers take time to develop in the NFL, I think that a receiver with Harvin's skill-set is a bit of a different case. Aside from being used on short routes...

The 49ers square off this Sunday with a Vikings squad that hasn't had too many major injury problems. As this report shows, the biggest no show at practice was middle linebacker E.J. Henderson . Adrian Peterson was limited, but I'd imagine he'll definitely be playing on Sunday. Frank Gore was limited in practice because of his ankle, but again, I don't see him missing Sunday's game. Brandon Jones is...
