In the bye week that come and went, the Baltimore Ravens obliterated the Denver Broncos . While the Ravens appeared at the top of their game, the Bengals entered the bye week at the top of their own game. Can you say, collision? Now we've hit the stretch in which the Bengals will have back-to-back showdowns against division powerhouses. This week, it's the Ravens. Next week, it's the Steelers . Is...

When I'm at work, I always build a list of MP3s in Win Amp and play the list randomly. It's the first thing I do in the morning, putting the list together. And it always depends on the mood; music works like that. Today is a Metallica day. I've always been old school Metallica, but I've softened enough to dig the newer stuff. Maybe it's my age. I grew up as a metal head, but now I'll listen to anything....

I'll make one prediction. If the Bengals beat the Steelers this week at home, and then hit the road and beat divisional rivals, the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens , the Bengals won't just be leading the division, they'll sell Paul Brown Stadium out the rest of the season. Bob Bratkowski likes giving Dennis Roland snaps as a blocking tight end. Many of the team's short yardage, or obvious rushing...

Now that the cuts are announced, let's make one thing clear. It's very unlikely that this is the final 53-man roster that will kickoff the season next weekend. With players being released and waived, the Bengals, like all other 31 NFL teams can pour over available players. If they decide to put a claim on a player, they will be sixth in line. If the other fives teams decide not to claim the player...

On Friday, Josh (Kirkendall), Craig (A Pragmatic Bengals Fan), Chris (IFChris) and Jake (jsl413) sat in a room and decided to take on the task filling out the 53-man roster. While initially our intended goal was based on prediction, we also set the roster with players that we think makes the team stronger. For example, our more radical idea that might not be on the mind of the Bengals brass, is to...

On Monday morning the Bengals updated their depth chart, via the Bengals.com website . One of the most glaring changes is that the Bengals moved Jason Shirley from defensive tackle to left guard behind Nate Livings . Jason Shirley. Now a guard. Convinced of this move, the Bengals changed his number from #97 to #70. Interesting. It makes you believe that this is a move to keep Shirley on the team; even...

As noted in the comments of other posts, the Bengals signed Geoffrey Pope , released guard Frank Davis from the 53-man roster, linebacker Dan Howell from the practice squad and signed linebacker Abdul Hodge and offensive tackle Dennis Roland to the practice squad. Got it? The Bengals promoted Pope in response to Johnathan Joseph's sprained ankle. Likely he'll be the team's fourth cornerback behind...

Andrew and the boys at WDR provided a season preview for Dead Spin . It's good that any of the Bengals bloggers get national recognition; so here's to the boys at WDR. The Bengals added two more players to their practice squad filling it out, by signing CB Geoffrey Pope and OT Dennis Roland . Chinedum Ndukwe and Pat Sims are still not practicing while Andre Caldwell apparently got cleared to participate...
